Bed-liner fender flares?

thats it man....good stuff there.

 

well i started it last night and finished it this afternoon. i cleaned the flares off and sprayed some adhesion promoter on em and then put Plasti-cote brand bed liner spray on them. so far so good - they look real good. only thing is that i have to replace the blue and red clips that clip the flares on the body (getting those in the morning)...ill see if i can put up some pics of the finished product...

 

Those little F-ing clips are EXPENSIVE!!! I had to replace a couple of them. I think they are around $2.00 a piece.

 

they arent too bad..got all the ones i needed and then some from NAPA this morning for about 30 bucks - got a free 5 gal. bucket for spending at least $25 too

Volvo plastic bumpers have always had fading problem, I never used this product, I opted for the weekly back to black treatments but I hear this works well.

go for it - it worked real well. i let them dry for a couple days then put them on and didnt go gently on em...theyre working real well and it looks so much better with the black on the flares rather than the faded gray color..

by the way..how do you like your cai? what all does it improve in the performance of your truck?

 

i will be completely honest with you, it was a waste of money. when i bought my truck for some reason the CAI was the first thing I wanted on then I found out about the deck plate mod. Of course it made the engine sound better and a bit more pick-up, and it did open the engine bay up a lot more which is good because I love to clean my engine but other than that, stick with the deck-plate mod man.

the deck-plate mod is a VERY in-expensive intake modification that will probably do the same as far as performance as a CAI would do. Here bro, here is a write up about it. You can most likely get a deckplate at your local Marine Store

gonna make your eng sound a bit deeper, more noticible at higher RPM's obviously

paint them, BUT take your time, light even coats for even and non bubbled finish

just repainted my fender flares using spray can bedliner. Actually came out really good!

 

Yall must live in the shade, cause in the texas heat herculiner sucks ass. Fades to shit in no time. Get rustoleum spray bed liner. Its not rubber textured, but is textured paint basically. Shoot it with clear after dry.

 

Go to Wal-mart, Autozone or home depot and pickup some Rustoleum Truck Bedliner in a can and spray those suckers down. Comes out looking great, not too gritty either. Pictures in my gallery of mine completed

 

If the fender flares are ABS, they will take well to a good quality rattle-can paint. Why don't more people simply paint them? If you like flat black, than I can understand the liner, but if you want gloss than paint is the way to go.
