What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Took it out to Fish Creek Wash (OK, this wasn't today...but I got the pics up!)



Our group for the camping trip last weekend. 12 trucks, and many TW members!

 

I got some trail damage..

I tried to go through this (like a boss), and uhh it didn't go well.




And then I found some rocks..


Meanwhile my sliders are still getting made..

 

I was trying to set my keyless entry to unlock the driver door only the first click and the other three doors on the second click. i hit the middle button on my fob twice and my truck started up! the seller didnt tell me i had remote start! i have had it for two days now, glad to find that out so soon!!

 

Damn! Do the doors scrape now when you open them?

Didn't do a thing except plan. My immediate wish list is the raptor style satoshi grill (but mine is 2012 so it's not available) lettered Toyota (as opposed to Tacoma), demello rock crushers, set of stylin' black wheels (model TBD, still trying to figure this out...could use advice), and Goodrich T/A KOs all around, slightly bigger than stock, i.e. 265/75/16. I can't justify getting new tires until winter, at which time I will do the wheels too. Since what I do when I am not commuting could scarcely be called "off road", I confess that the crushers are partly for show..but I figure they will protect against door dings, help out if I slide into a tree negotiating the hills (and other vehicles) around Seattle in the snow, and provide a step-up for small passengers. I still don't know what they weigh....I could easily live with 120 lbs, and would start having second thoughts if it were nearer 200. I could also settle for the grill with Toyota in white letters....still an open question. Darn, I want to get this done....If I could settle on the right wheels I might just get the footwear issues settled right now. The grill is beyond my control, so I've got to be patient.

 

They don't scrape. But I'll hammer it out anyway. Might use a slide hammer to pull it out if I can.

I like those rims and tires! what are they and is that stock height?

 

If mine settles about an inch that would be about perfect. I could set the 5100 fronts at 1.75" and that would be almost perfectly level if it settled to 1.75" in the rear from 2.75" that it currently is. If that 1" settling is pretty common I may just go ahead and do that and wait for it to settle.

I woulda had to have it straddling the tracks backed up a ways. Maybe several pictures as you got closer to where it is now..... Still looks good though.

 

There were tons of metal shavings all around the tracks, I wasnt about to slice a tire to get the photo, I did want it on the tracks but it wasnt worth it to me that much.. I have farther/closer up shots but I only like that one really

 

mine didn't settle an inch...

it settled to about one inch above the pre TSB springs.

 

definately understand that. Tires aint cheap. would have looked cool though.

 

I fully agree, it was my first thought when I saw the tracks, aside from the metal shavings the tracks were 62" out to out, my tires are 58" ID so it would have been a huge pita to get on top.

 

I missed my truck today. It's been in the shop for two weeks. I'm getting antsy. Stupid Allstate.
