Morning everyone! Lynn gave me a surprise gift yesterday - went on a hot air balloon ride to celebrate my first day as president of the college. There's a local guy who does the flights - launches from various places fairly close to our house and flys over regularly - lands on our property from time to time, too.

We launched at about 6AM - the winds later in the day were predicted to be too high; and they were. It was about 65 degrees and perfect weather in the morning. He picked the launch site based on the wind predictions to try to get as close to our house as he could. As it turned out, it was perfect. Not only did we fly right over our property, but the winds at the surface to about 100 ft were in about the opposite direction so, when he got close to the house, he dropped down. The winds pushed us backwards and up our hill. When he went back up, we went in front of the house so we got an almost 360 degree view.

If you've never done this, put it on your bucket list!

    Sunrise from the balloon.

This is the reflection of our balloon as we crossed over our lake - how cool is that?

And here's the front of MMM.

This is a shot that gives you an idea of the layout of MMM. My in-laws are in the original farm house - not sure what we'll do with that once they pass on. You can see the pool and across from it the barn and stable. On the left you can see the lake from the reflection picture.

And from a little farther away you can see most of our property - probably 53 of 57 acres are in the view. A nice mix of fields, woods and grass areas. Our piece of heaven.

Very true here as well. Lots of helpfull guys lending a hand when needed.

    Mark:
Nice pics and what a great gift from your wife.

We are all set for a week of warm weather here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Temps in the mid 90's al week. South Carolina was just hammered yesterday with record high temps.

Lots of homes with out power in my city this morning. We are very lucky that the power company chose the feeder line that feeds out home to be used as a redundant power feed to the local shopping center complex. The 3 traffic lights feeding the center were working but all the rest of the lights in the city were out. I did not want to venture outside and drive due to so many poor drivers in the area. Most all do not know if the light is out then treat the intersection as a 4 way stop sign.

The new AC system is working like a champ. The house has not been this comfortable in years. It seems that CArrier have made a lot of improvements in AC over the last 20 years.

Started the "66", and got to the end of the driveway when the master cylinder decided to take a chit! backed it up and put it back in the garage.
a new one is on its way from Summit Racing.
can't believe it's one thing after another, but it's my baby and I'll keep fixing it as long as I own it.
I've replaced more than one of these over the yrs., and it's still the single reservoir. NO BRAKES when it goes!
