Hi all, just bought my 2012 TRD double cab Tacoma here in Ontario Canada. Love it I traded a 2011 ford edge in for it and couldn't be happier.
I know and have been searching the threads about all my questions but want to get answers for my specific needs I will post pics soon.

1st: I want to get an exhaust for this truck I know its not a v8 but I want something that will sound close to a V8 loud and proud any suggestions? I've been on YouTube etc I can't tell on this vids.

2nd: a lift... I drive the truck about 100kms a day (Canada) so I want something that won't impair ride quality and want to do it right the first time. I am not going off roading all the time or hardcore off roading at all really but I want to lift it maybe 2" and put a nice aggressive looking tire/wheel combo on it. I am
Looking for good lift ideas I don't want a cheapo lift that rides like shit I want to do it right. should I put 18" rims or keep it at 17" get new rims and add new tires... What sizes should I be looking at?
All help is appreciated and all those who will say search.... I have but want advice on my ride and needs.. Thanks

Congrats! where in Canada are you from? I live in Penticton BC.

I have a Magnaflow exhaust and couldnt be happier. I would go to a good Muffler shop that has a good selection and get them to cut yours off and try a few. thats what I did and I walked away happy.

As far as lift I loved by Adjustable Bilstein 5100 with Eibach coils and rear add a leaf. It gave me about 2.6" lift up front and gave me some room to clear a tire around 33" with little trimming.

If you want anymore info on the setup I had PM me and I can let you know.

    thanks and good luck!

If you are looking for a V8 sound I can safely say that a TRD exhaust is NOT the way to go. I have a TRD exhaust, but I really dig the sound. There are a ton of write ups on here, you just have to search. Welcome to TW

First of all congrats on the purchase!

As far as ride quality, everyone will tell you to go with an OME suspension lift, itll give you about 3" and you can stuff 33s in there with minor fender trimming and possibly a cab mount chop. Im running 285/65/18 nitto trail grapplers with an OME lift and only had to trim the plastic, it doesnt rub my cab mount. For exhausts, I had a flowmaster and recently switched it out for an aero turbine muffler and I personally believe that it is the best sounding exhaust out there for our trucks, its loud and has that low rumble at low rpm (closest sounding to a v8).

Stock- just bought rims, tires, and 4' spindles (camburg) Just waiting for rims (back order:-/), then off to the shop
I just got my lift installed today and wanted an aggressive look and my truck exceeded my expectations...
As far as agressive, you want some beefier tires? I think a smaller rim will make your tires look bigger. Prob would stay at 16-17 rim. just me
To keep your factory ride, maybe check out camburg spindle or a coil over

I actually don't want to big of tires.. I prefere the look of 18's on like a 275 65 18 setup. I like the way the 33's look on these trucks just not what I want.

I have been searching suspension like crazy an looking on toytec etc.. I think I am more confused now than when I started.

This is my situation. I drive about 100 Kms a day total to and from work. I will hardly every be doin any off roading and definetly nothing hardcore. I want to lift it 3 would be max but I'm thinking with my tire/wheel size I like 2" would be fine. I need something that will ride like stock not all over the road and good on the highway cause I'm all highway.
I want to do the lift right so any kind I diff drop or anything I need to keep everything working right and not damaging anything on th truck.

I don't think I need to spend the money on coil overs like king or something in that line.
What would be a good total setup to get a 2-3" lift
