AAL? Is it worth it?

    Lost track many, many mods ago.
    So I am experiencing some sag in the rear of my truck when I have any kind of weight in it. I am thinking of getting AAL to help out with the sagging. Is it worth it? And can an average guy with access to most every tool be able to do the swap himself?

    About how long install time do you think? I am running up to 4wheelparts tomorrow I think to pick them up. I got the day off so can it be done in a day?

    x3..................aal will definitely help you out, and they are easy to install. be sure you use some c-clamps or big vise grips to hold the springs together so they dont fully separate when you take them apart.

    im gonna guess in a few hours, maybe a bit more depending on how rusty the hardware is. use some pb blaster to help get things loosened up.

    I have done them in less than an hour with basic hand tools. 1 day is wnough to install them, and have LOTS of time left. :)

    Listen to Will, he knows. I was getting some sag in my 2nd gen and had little hope of getting the TSB so I put a 1.5" ProComp AAL on mine. I had never done anything like that before but am fairly mechanically inclined. The first one took me an hour and the second one took me 25 minutes. I know mine is 2nd gen, but the leaf pack is very similar. Definitely use the clamps to keep the springs together and take your time. In the 6 or so months i have had mine in, I've settled about 1/4" and have only bottomed out once. And the best part is, I got the springs for 50 bucks. Great investment over blocks or anything else.

    Yeah axle-wrap. Probably just as easy to install as AAL, I just think the AAL is much more beneficial

    Thought so. I never considered blocks because of all the negative stuff I have heard about them. So Procomp then huh?

    It's the only one I have experience with and I like it just fine. They didn't come with instructions but I found them on the ProComp website and it was pretty straight foreward. If you get under your truck and give the leaf packs and U-Bolts a good hard look, you'll almost understand exactly where the AAL goes. I did my 5100's at the same time:)
