    Well shorts are cheaper than pants and with our hobby, every penny counts. ;)

    I have thought about the body lift but I will see how bad everything will rub first. I do plan on cutting the fenders/flares and pounding back the firewall with a BFH some more.

    I am going to do a whole writeup/DIY on the fenders as I have only found bits and pieces on the entire process.

    No fiberglass. Reason being is that I want to retain the snorkel and fiberglass isn't going to allow that. I am going with the TC +2" kit so the tires won't stick out too far.

    Not to jack your build thread... I posted in Max's about this as well. I just picked up a set of Bushwhacker flares and intend to alter them for a bolt-on high clearance application. by "bolt on" I mean fasten by the pocket holes on the flare vs. the standard way with the stock mounts.
    They just came to my house today.
    This would allow for cutting the stock fenders out for clearance and still having an easy way to mount the flares. they would also stick out further than the stock flare for more tire coverage.
    Thoughts?

    So are saying to actually use the holes where the fake bolts go and make them actual mounting holes? If that is the case, I am unsure if the flares would line up with the curve of the fender.You could make it work, just a lot of work.

    Yes, that is exactly what I'm thinking. but not just trimming off 2-2 1/2" from the flare but actually reforming it along the cut as well to go back into the fender well like the stock ones currently do. Once you trim up the fender you take out the stock mounting points for the flare leaving only those shitty plastic clips we all know & love.:rolleyes: I'd like to develop a viable replacement that can be mounted on from the outside so the stock inner fender mounts are not an issue.
    I kinda know a guy who's really good at plastic fabrication... :anonymous:

    Certainly do-able...It's going to be a lot of work (just like my flares are going to be). I say do it if you have that kind of money where if you fail, you wouldn't mind losing that money.

    Believe it or not, plastic fabrication is not that bad... I've already got $490 in the flares.:rolleyes: The tough part would be duplication... Making mine the prototype then perhaps having additional sets made out of fiberglass. :notsure:

    i do believe Ben fixed the fit a bit, I know looking at it in MOAB he did not have that huge gap, but it required cutting and plastic welding

    Yes, Traylor Products. They are right down the street from All Por and still can produce stuff. I bought the cap pieces for under the taillights from them. Fit is ok but he finish is a biit rough.
