So I am in need of a suit. I'm trying for Private security jobs and most companies have required that you wear a suit to the interviews. Id rather not buy a new one and I don't know anybody with one that would fit me. So I figured is ask here.
I'm new to the whole size thing but I'm 5'11" 200lbs. I wear a 35"-36" waist x 30" or 32" long. and I have no clue bout the jacket size. Large I guess?
I don't want to rent one as I don't know how long if will take me to get a job, and seeing as I'm looking for a job I have to keep costs super low.
    Thanks allot guys!

IMO a good suit is something that every man should have at least 1 of. Why not get a suit that's actually tailored for you? You could get one for a couple hundred bucks if money is a big concern. Poor fitting suits look terrible.

You can get a decent looking one for around $100 at JC Penney (or the like). They generally have someone there to help you get fitted as well.

I got a pretty sweet suit at goodwill for 20$!

My sister works at calvin klein and I got one of their suits on sale for around 50 after the employee discount. It was originally like 300 of 400$. If you got hook ups use them :p

Check out Men's Warehouse. This week would be a good time to buy July 4th sales.

I second this. If you need a suit and you just can't afford to spend much money, Goodwill is the place to go.

However, looking at your sig and seeing that you've got a 2011 Tacoma - I conclude that you've got some money rattling around in some pocket somewhere. And in that case - yeah, I also repeat what the others say - every man needs one suit for looking "buttoned down" on those occasions that require it such as job interviews.

A very dark grey or navy suit, with a lightly patterned dress shirt, and a tasteful dark tie with dark red and/or maroon and one other color that matches the suit and the tie you pick will be useful for you to have.

Go to the department store (Sears, Pennys) on a weekday morning when they're not so busy and have the sales clerk help you pick out some good colors. Think "tastefully understated."

Yeah I keep on seeing like "buy one suit got another free+2 shits and 2 ties free" or something like that from them.

I got my suit from macys too. Tailored fit on the jacket was a few more bucks but well worth it.

    :D

I doubt the average Joe would know we're wearing cheap threads...I wouldn't interview for a fancy lawyerin' type job with my "cheap" suit, but as long as it fits well most folks don't know the difference between a $100 suit and a $600 suit.

First, let me say that I am not into clothes at all...in fact my wife is always trying to get me to dress more for my body type and with the times. I'm clothes clueless.

That being said, I do notice when someone has a poorly fitted suit. I'm a sales manager and I do a lot of interviewing. A poorly fitted suit tells me they do not care enough to invest in how they look for the interview.

I am also cheap. But I've tried department stores, and many of them do not do alterations (most men cannot buy right off the rack and it fit properly) and the ones that do, charge quite a bit.

I think a good suit is a good investment and like mentioned before, every man should have at least one.

I'd go to Men's Wearhouse...good service, not too pricey for what you get. Tell them your budget in the beginning so they don't start showing really pricey ones. They do a good job of making sure it fits properly. I'd plan to spend at about $300 for a pretty good suit. Just my $0.02.
