I can't speak for everyone, but I don't feel like mine were machined correctly. The nuts don't properly fit, and I hear a noise now that wasn't there before, and I slight vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds. I've triple checked all the nuts with a calibrated torque wrench, and nothing is out of spec.

I hope yours turn out great. There seems to be some inconsistencies in the machining. Others with the same size as mine have full contact with the provided nuts and great fitment, and some don't have full thread contact. However, mine are the first that I've head of that give any vibrations. I probably should have gone with spidertrax, but hindsight is 20/20.

No problems with mine. Have an easy 3K on them already. No vibes or added noises.

Buckwells I know it is a pain bu did you try taking them off to see if the noise goes away? Try to pin point front or rear by just taking two off at a time or one.

Hope you get yours straightened out.

I haven't removed any yet, but I'm sure it's the front. How hard is it to break the loctite bond on the nuts?

I've had mine on with 2 different sets of wheels with absolutely zero vibrations. Let me add that my commute to work is 75 miles one way (all interstate), so a vibration-free ride is a must for me.

Loctite is mainly so it will not come loose on its own from vibration. They should break loose with a little more force than normal.

Key to getting any fastener to break loose with loctite on it is the same as rust or any other problem. Toss some moderate heat on it to break down the loctite.

Been meaning to post this, and probably shouldn't without the references, but....
I'm also not trying to start a debate, and I'm sure others will have differing opinions.
Years ago, when considering applying some light oil or lubricant to my Lug Studs, to keep the nuts from rusting and freezing on,
My research turned up some articles stating, You should never put "anything" on the threads as it changes the Torque Value.
Didn't matter if it was Locktite or WD-40.
If I get around to finding any info regarding the issue, I'll repost.
Correct Torque is the ultimate in keeping your wheels on.
I'd rather post this and be wrong, than not and have someone have a problem.
    Anyone else ever heard this?

Thanks for the offer but I'm positive those would be too much for my anthricite FJ SE wheels and 285s... I'm not 100% positive the 3/4" will work yet.

I don't know if you've tried your 285s without spacers, but they might just fit fine without spacers.

I have 265s and put a set of 1" spacers on with the same basic wheel as yours and I started to get fender rubbing issues that I didn't expect.

The Bora fitment was just fine and the "look" was great - but I took them off last Saturday after a week because of the rubbing.

I ordered the spacers before I got my Trail Team replicas. Figured I put them on since they were paid for. I've still got plenty of room between the tire and control arm without them though.

My info shows the FJ TT wheels are 7.5" with 15mm offset - which gives them approx. 4.25 to 4.5 inch backspace.

Yeah, I'm running 285s with the FJ wheels right now with no issues. This puts my tire about flush with my fender and I'd love to stick it out just a bit, so long as I don't get into to cutting the cab mounts by doing so.

Are you saying that you're running the FJ wheels right now with 1" spacer? Approximately how close do your 265s get to the cab mounts when turning? Have a picture of your truck looking down the fender? I'd love to see it!

The FJ wheels are 7.5" with 15mm offset, which puts the BS at 4.84". So if I put 3/4" spacers on it's at 4.09" BS.

Side Note: what's a TT replica? You have my interest :)

No, I took the spacers off - tires started rubbing the back side of the fender. No issues with the cab mount with 265s - but the spacers changed the steering geometry enough to cause the rubbing (the further away your wheel is from the pivot point, the larger the arc the wheel makes when turned) I suspect you'd have the same issue if you added spacers.

TT = Trail Team (black FJ wheels)

Well, I'll let you know. I just ordered the 3/4" spacers. I can't seem to get the info I need so I'll be the guinea pig. I don't mind trimming more plastic as needed just don't want to cut metal if I don't need to.

You said trail team replicas which had me confused. I thought maybe someone had cloned our wheels.

Yeah, well because they're so hard to come by, a Toyota dealership in Arizona started having the silver FJ wheels powder coated to match the originals - thus the term "replica".

Good luck with the spacers. I'll be curious to see your results.

Kind of interested in selling my 1" spacers. Never installed. I bought them planning on getting 285s, and ended up getting 265's so I don't need them and would rather have the money to put towards different wheels. PM me if interested

Put my 1.25s on a couple days ago. Same story as everyone else with the stud engagement. I was talking to JR about it at motortech and he said it was fine but if I wanted the ET lug nuts for peace of mind he would sell them to me for $1 each. But I already orded them on All Pro. Next tire rotation I will put them on. I will post pic of truck tomorrow.
