Well I installed the update as well. I got the thumb drive on Saturday, installed in less than 5 minutes. This update really boosted the features of the system making me happier I got entune. I had a few concerns about the system at first but knew it was updateable and am happy with this improvement. Now the non premium entune has all the features the premium system has minus the satalight radio update and hard drive. The voice feature with bing makes the need to update the nav database for over $100 not neccisary since bing can search the internet. I'm happy with it so far.

Got mine too and updated with no issues. It would be nice to have that "car" button like the Prius (call it "Truck") so we could have air pressure readings, instant mileage etc.

I just took my truck in for some service today and the dealer told me that they don't actually update the system, We (the customer) does. Not sure if that is true or not but seems kind of odd. I also found another read that Toyota will actually send you a thumb drive in the mail with the update on it....

*EDIT* I just read the last page where you all are getting the update in the mail pretty awesome. Maybe you can help me with this question also.

So I have Entune with navigation and from what I can tell so far with using it is you HAVE to know the zip code for it to search an area. For instance my zip code is different than where I was going but I couldn't just search by the street and then have it give me options of city's or zips. Am I doing something wrong or is this a potential downside of the system?

Sounds to me like you might have the 1.7.4 entune version. I had the same issue where I couldn't search my destination for something I was looking for. If you were to update to 1.8.4 you would have the option to search current location or near destination. On top of it all you will be able to do it when you update your entune system with the thumb drive thats being mailed to you. The update made things much more easy for me to do everything. I think Toyota created entune then tried to dumb it down for people who didn't spend extra for the premium version. With that comes a bunch of problems trying to restrict it. The USB update will fix a lot of issues.

    Thanks Travis,

Did you get a letter in the mail about the update or an email? I haven't received anything yet and now I'm excited haha.

I got a letter. I tried to upload the update to tacomaworld but it didn't work. Also I tried to see if I could make it an email attachment but it's over 300 mb and too big to email. If I can find a way I will let you know and if you have your own thunb drive you can update it yourself before yours arrives.

I've uploaded the Entune update to my public Dropbox account. There are two files - the ISO image and a text log file. Copy these two files to a USB stick.

    Step by step:
    1) Start truck and keep it running the whole time
    2) Turn on audio system, press the "Apps" button
    3) Put in the USB stick
    4) Let it read the stick, then screen will display:
"Update software from 1.8.4 to 2.1.0? Click Yes
    5) Press confirm, takes about 5 minutes to install (keep truck running)
    6) Message on screen says:
"Update Complete, Remove USB or press YES to reinstall 2.1.0"
    Click No
    7) Finished!

    The two files:

If dropbox doesn't like the iso file, you could just put it into a zip file and re-upload it into the dropbox account.

I tried to use the nav destination entry for the first time yesterday. Is there any way to override the auto-fill and just manually enter in all the info? I couldn't get the damn address I wanted entered because it would only guess certain street names within a zip code rather than just letting me enter a street name within the city. It's useless unless you know the zip code of what you want to look up, I suppose.

Oh, and it was on the head unit, not in the app.
