This last storm took the area by suprise. NOAA knew something was up around 14:00 on Friday by the strange weather pattern at the upper level of the atmosphere. They could not predict what would actually happen. This storm was actually the worst storm, for power outage, in the history of DC.

I am very lucky in that my house is fed off of a redundant power feed for the local shopping center that was installed last year. My neighbors across the street are still without power.

:oldglory: I love our independence day. Hopefully we can keep celebrating it in the future. Just need to make sure we keep will Smith around long enough for those pesky alien invasions!

We're enjoying ourselves, been biking and hiking just about every day so far. Might not do much today, it's raining out now, but I could use a down day, I'm not 18 anymore! Hope everyone has a nice holiday today, enjoy. Oh, and to my Canadian friends, hope you had a nice holiday last Monday!

Is it still triple digit heat in your area?

Not yet Dave. Mid to upper 90's for the next 7 days and beyond. Might have some relief around the 14th of July.

We had weird neighbors behind us about 10 years ago. Wife would routinley chase the husband with a pot in hand. We actually planted holly bushes to put a screen between us and them.

Cleaning up the house before people head over here. Almost all done... Joy. Food is almost done being made, beer in the fridge, fire works in the garage. We figured since the house is about 85% complete, it was time to hold some sort of thing over here.
