What is this? or What is it used for?

In my 04 Double Cab, which I just got a couple of months ago. I see this thing inside the center console box. It must have some purpose, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. It is on the drivers side. Can you tell me what this is? Thanks so much in advance.

When the truck was new, that was the mounting bracket for your change holder. It comes off, so it probably got lost somewhere along the way.

 

Thanks so much. Your right, its lost, and I probably would never use it anyway. I am not a smoker, so my change goes in the ashtry.
