So this morning I go out to the truck and it starts fine. Drive across the street to get a coffee, come back out and it won't turn over...it just "Clicks". Took the battery down to be tested and it's fine...so I cleaned the post's and terminal connectors. STILL, won't start..it just clicks. Everything power works fine!

    Thoughts???

A couple whacks on the starter?

Turning the key in an pulsing manner can sometimes get it started if it's the starter.

    Bump start it if stick?

I'm not sure...the truck is STILL at the gas station. The manager said I could leave it there until I got off work...

Was it starting weird before? Mine took 3 weeks to get completely shot from the day I noticed it first having issues.

Welp that sucks... my electrical knowledge is squat. I imagine I would check all the fuses then grab an ohm meter and make sure it's getting power (guesses). Good luck man!

I'd really think it's the starter. Crawl under and whack it with a hammer a couple times and then try to start it. While you're under there jiggle the wires connected to it.

I've had two past vehicles that had a "flat" spot on the starter and every once in a while, usually at night when it was pouring rain or when I was parked over a big puddle of oil, I'd have to crawl under there with a baseball bat and whack it.

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
Happened to my starter on my Runner. Started and ran fine all day, go to start it again at night. Nothing, except all the electronics still worked so I figured it wasn't the battery. Click click click click. It took like literally 15 minutes of trying to start it before I finally got it started. Got a new starter the next day and it was good to go.

    Nope...

As embarrassed as I am to say it...it was just a dirty cable/clamp on the positive terminal. Cortland had the same issue once before...he replaced the starter and the problem remained. Took some sandpaper to the inside of the clamp and BOOM! Started right up...it didn't look dirty enough to make the truck malfunction the way it did but...

Anyhow, order has been restored and it was a free fix :woot:

    130,000 mile and going strong

He only cleaned the battery terminal posts, not the actual terminal clamps.
