What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

What I did today was get my 6" fabtech lift and wheels all shipped to my door step when I got home yesterday

I got my SockMonkey TRD All Terrain bedside decals today... they will go on tomorrow.

Today I took my DS Fog light out to dry out the water/moisture in it, and reseal it with some silicone. (drying as I type)
I tested the bulb gasket by pooring water over it and no water leaked inside....

 

Where did you tap into for power with that set up

 

Did they do the full synthetic?

 

Installed the Total Chaos UCA's I just got in the mail today. got em both done in a bout an hour. Now to ship out my LR UCA's tomorrow!

Checked the torque on the Tom Wood's one piece driveshaft. It's all good. Sprayed every nut and bolt underneath I could find with Amsoil metal protector.

 

I want a Tom Wood's one piece, how much did it cost you?

Well I bought it four years ago during a group buy on one of the forums. I had a 2007 Tacoma at the time. Got rid of that truck and a few trucks later got another Tacoma. I paid around $400 for it through the group buy. I got it pre setup for a 2" rear lift. At the time I was gonna get an OME lift.

Getting rid of the carrier bearing pos stock two piece driveshaft is one of the best mods for these trucks. That carrier bearing must be wobbling all over the place 'cause I have no vibes now with the one piece. My truck is stock except for slightly bigger tires and the rear TSB.

 

Thanks for the info man. The main reason I want to get one is the "no vibes" aspect of a one piece.

 

Your welcome. I couldn't believe the difference. I'm now mad @ myself for waiting 18,500 miles to put this one, I had in my basement this whole time, on the truck.

According to the paperwork and 50 bucks I had to pay for the oil, yes.

 

Why not replace the worn out carrier bearing?

 

It's not worn out. My truck has 18,500 miles on it and is still under warranty. No way it's worn out. The two piece stock driveshaft is the cause of most of the vibes and thumps on braking, etc., on these trucks. It's just a poor design, IMO.

 

I have +100k miles, no issue.
