Just sayin lol. Im really not 100 percent sure what it actually does, but it feels like it uses only the lower end of the power band more. Thats just from sperience. I love it on the highway.

finished up a little project involving 4 seats. I'll just say that driving is more comfortable and I can fit my family of 6 in the truck again. :)

    Dude... thanks.

As for making the lip that the sub is bolted/screwed to, can't you just take a router to the edge forming whatever depth lip you need? I was a little confused as to how you accomplished this in your write up.

The only thing I might do differently is mount the sub in the middle (is there enough clearance behind it to do so?) and put one latch mechanism on either side. Either that or just tap screw the plywood panel to the body some how.

And my only other question would be: what type of sub would be best sounding for that application?

Yes you could use a router but the 1/4 wood i used matched the thickness ofthe sub perfectly so to get the same flush mount affect you would have to use at least 3/4" wood which wont sit flush to the mounting surface in the the truck, thus the reason for making a ring to go under the 1/4" door

And honestly id probably just leave te latch thing out entirely, it would probably look much cleaner and since it will be bolted down it will be pointleas anyway. I thought about using self tapping screws but i think im going to use some sort of carriage bolt fiberglassed in uder the carpet then just put some nuts on before the new sub goes in.

Im probably also going to fiberglass or deaden everything under there as well when it come back out. i may even completly make a new door and everything since i got a good idea of everything with this one.

As for the sub i will probably just get a mild kicker of some sort, i can only push around 150-200 watts off my rear channel but that will be plenty enough for me. & like someone said earlier a free air sub would be best most likely, unless you want to go overboard deadening everything
