To start off... I had an apt. on friday (April 10th) at 7am to get the TSB done.. Ok well i got there at 6:50 and they took it right back.. i had my GF come and pick me up because they told me its going to take a good while (BUT! i found a PDF of the install operations and what not and it said 5 hours MAX). well about 2:30 comes around and i get a phone call and the service rep says "i have good news and bad news" i said "okay just tell me whats up".. they paused and took a deep breath and said "rear leaf springs and shocks are done, but we came across a problem." i was like okay what did they eff up on my truck.. "when we went to take the tie rod attaching nut off we stripped it".. i said "okay well replace it" they said "ummm well we cant get the part on order til monday and you 'SHOULD' have your truck back by tuesday afternoon"... needless to say i got over to the dealer quick because they told me i have to pay to the rental car.. i went off and said "why should i have to pay for your guys eff up?" there was more venting involved.. well yeah i got a rental at their cost and HOPEFULLY my trucks ready for me tuesday and i hope its done right. they showed me what is messed up and how the rear got a tid higher and what not (the rear looks good tho)

not only do i have to degrade from my truck for 5 days but i get stuck in a POS cobolt... nuff said about that..

Any tips on what to look for when i pick it up to ensure all the work is done correct, so i dont have to deal with them anymore?

sorry for the long thread but it really pissed me off, when i read some of ya'll got outta the dealer within 3 hours or so.. so i figured i share how a Southern MD Dealer is..

look for new four leaf spring packs in the rear (with four leafs). four new shocks (If not a trd) A printout of the alignment check. An invoice that says $o.oo. then crawl under and just look for anything suspicious i.e. boltsnot tightened. New u bolts..

That's what they were hoping for, But as he said he went there and dropped the F-Bomb. No charge.

yeah they sure didnt expect me to stand my ground.. it was all a big fuss like they were big and bad on the phone but once i got there, it was like they tucked their tail between their legs and said okay well we will cover your rental 100% besides the gas usage.. they changed their tone and everything once i got there.. i was like ummm okay? what happened to no we dont give rentals for service work? lol

with what i said to them in a sorta loud manor, i was like 'great watch them eff with my truck and i'll end up paying an arm and a leg in the future' hints to why i asked the specifics on what to look for when i pick my truck up.

    You are not alone.

When I had my TSB work done, they waited until the day I showed up for my appointment to order the damn parts.

I have an 08 DC 4x4 Sport, so they only had to do the rear springs. They had my truck for 3 days.

I made the appointment 4 days in advance, and specifically told them what I wanted done. I even gave them the TSB number. So why didn't they order the parts ahead of that? Morons.......

I printed out the TSB and handed it to the dealership that I went to today. They tried to come back and say that my problem was the TSB rear leafpack squeak problem. I had to tell them that I was bottoming out when I tow stuff for them to order the parts. I go back on thursday to get the TSB installed finally!

Just don't let them try to screw you over, especially if you still have a warranty. The last thing anybody should do, is try to screw me over on my truck!

well today i got my truck back... rides great and absorbes shock very well.. it was funny, the dealerships service advisor was very apologetic and said if i have any concerns or questions to feel free to call them and if it is a serious concern they will send a roll back to get the truck along with getting me a rental...

haha anyways, trucks 100% thanks for the advise for when i picked my truck up.. :D

I would dog the living sh!t out of that Cobalt. Good for you not taking their crap. They sling that stuff out hoping it will stick every once in awhile, and it does.

Believe it or not...Some folks do business like that. I haven't bothered to find "my" dealer- but I plan on moving around alot in the next 20 years...

For every rental car that gets fucked up or beat on, every fraudulent warranty claim, and every bit of hassle that customers give a dealer...someone down the line pays for it...Either money or exasperation.

Your right, some sucker will pay for it. Trick is, don't let it be you. Car salesmen are not your friends, neither are real estate brokers nor insurance adjusters. People in that line of work are out to do one thing, screw you for all they can. Trust me, I was in sales for nearly ten years; a salesman with your best interest in mind will not last long in the business. There are exceptions, like privately owned service based businesses, or flat fee brokers. But anytime your dealing with someone whose paycheck is based on a profit commision, watch out.

    Agreed.

When I went in for my TSB, I stayed for a full 9 hours in the waiting room. If anything happened to my truck while I was there...somebody would've gotten hurt. And it wouldn't have been me.

I'll give you-They aren't looking out for you...They are looking to make a sale. No reason to make it worse than it has to be tho. Misuse a rental, etc, etc- Just perpetuates the cycle and frustrates people.

I'm just saying- No reason to piss in corn flakes to teach them a lesson- cause it's not gunna change what they do...and it's just gunna stick it to some other sap down the line...
