Hey guys! I am really pissed about this.. But my 2012 is making a clunk noise when the suspension flexes...
I just went up to a hiking trail, and the road to get there is really bad. Had to use 4wd and do some 4bying to get there....

The noise/clunk happened on the very first bump or hole I came to.. wasnt going fast by any means, just when the suspension up front got to a sertant point it would make the clunk noise.. Please help! As it now does it when going up my driveway.(driveway is steep) .. didnt do it before...

And I know its under warranty... But I would like to avoid the dealer as much as possible... Thanks!

BumP... I just tightened the rear ubolts to 80 ft. Lbs.
They were way loose! Like maybe 40 or 50 ft. Lbs.

I drove around and the clunk wasnt there... But im not sure if its totally gone... No one has any idea what else it could be?

Are all the bumpstops still in place?

I would keep checking tightness/torque of the suspension components.

Is it coming from the front or rear?

If you can, move the suspension up and down in the front and rear. Clunking noises can come from a lot of things, try to get it to make the noise again. Ball joints typically seem to be the culprit.

^ thats what I was thinking. It seems like its coming from the front, but not sure. I was thinking balljoint to but I checked them and they look and seem good... checked the bolts on them also..
I will try to make it make the noise again, but its very hard. Because it only does it when the suspension is almost at its max..

I have used a small digital recorder taped to various part of my trucks in the past to try and isolate noises. maybe this trick can help

If you have a floor jack, lift the tires off the ground using the lower control arm and by hand grab the outside of the tires horizontally and then vertically using a pull and push (aka wiggle) method to see if you feel any play.

checked all my nuts and bolts on my suspension and everything is good..

the clunk sound isnt as bad, but it still is happening. Not as aften now but it did it twice today..
I do have alittle play in my CV, maybe its that moving in and out???

I think im going to wait till I get my lift, wheels and tires put on and see if it continues.

Funny, I have a '12 4x4 sport, and when I first started going out and 4 wheeling, it would pop or clunk from the front somewhere. I think it was just flexing in ways that made it clunk and groan in protest. Doesn't seem to do it any more, 6000mi ish on it now.
