lolol  I won't tell a soul. Only thing is an expensive plane ride, but I'm shocked at how normal it appears (in the "I'm still in America" way), how amazing the architecture is, and, again, that scenery.... sheesh! Don't think I'll be able to make it up North this trip, but this is definitely a place I'd come back to. You shooting or hunting up there? I saw a brown bear on my drive in... (hitting the sack, btw, so answer you later)

Mike where you doing most of your fishing at? I'm headed up for the 2 week long yearly vacation I take with family and friends in July 15-28. I'll be fishing the Kenai Center pretty much on a daily basis showing the locals and tourists alike how it's done. I dont brag much, but when it comes to sockeye... Well pictures speak a thousand words. Anyone in the area is more then welcome to come fish with us (couple miles north of the Soldtona bridge)(public property) / enjoy a big homecooked family dinner at our home in Clam Gulch / spend the night on our beach property in anchor point.

    Tight lines.

And yes that 12" pole in my right hand brought in a couple of those fishezz.

Holy ----, Jake!!! Unbelievable catches! Yeah, I believe you're able to brag about that. lolol I'll be here until the end of July. We're based in Soldotna and filming a new show for National Geographic following salmon fishermen in the Kenai River. Sounds like it's right up your alley. Sounds like I'll also be seeing you on shore as we pass by on boats. Weird coincidence. heheh Maybe if I get some free time I'll join. What an awesome place to have a vacation home!!

Sounds like a trip to soldotna is in my future, can either of you guys plan anything? I know you can jake, I'm off Saturdays and Monday's so I could head out on a Friday or Sunday evening (Sunday would be better due to traffic on the weekend, most folks will be headed home) it'd be pretty cool to see how many members we can get down there fishing. I'm game for sure. Lol I just remembered I cut my fishing line to rebadge and haven't put any new line on yet....hahaha

Hmmm.... I'm definitely on a boat two days out of the week, and basically on call the others. I might be able to plan a weekend day off....

Sounds like a pretty sweet gig with National Geographic. I'll be putting up my phone number in about a week to anyone who wants to start stocking their freezers.

Looks like I'm on a boat Sun/Mon & Wed/Thur in the next 3 weeks, w/ Tue/Fri off. Saturdays may be slow days, so maaaaaybe that could work. One of my friend's brought his fishing pole, too, so he might join if this comes together. Let me know how things shake down!

This is our current fishing hole 20 miles in the Cook Inlet....

I've mentioned it before, but yeah - I love AK. My wife and I traveled up there the first time in '09 and got married at bird point, south of Anchorage.

Some otters on the glacier tour we took.

Yup. For the first few trips we're out of Homer, then heading to the River for the remainder. Homer's beautiful! Just can't shake this weird sunlight-during-nighttime thing...

Lots of fish today! Count on the Kenai was 120k if I remember correctly. Got up here yesterday and was down at the river this morning. Got my limit in about 30 minutes and
Our group of 6 had limits within 2 hours.

Also with the talk of King season in the Kenai shutting down this year, the commercial fleet will be forced to slow down, which could create huge numbers of sockeye, which could potentially lead to a 12 fish limit within the next two weeks.

Pictures tomorrow, alls I took today for the girlfriend back home was the cleaning table with a couple fillets and the combatters lined up.

nice! I'm headed down tomorrow night through sunday for some dipnetting. Looks like we will have some nice weather. I hope my saggy suspension is ready for the load of gear/firewood I'm bringing down and the 85 fish coming back with me, lol.
