Anyone been to Yosemite recently? I've never been there before, and wanted to check it out.

Anyone around the SE ever camped off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Pisgah area. I was up there about 2yrs ago and was amazed at the camping spots way down in the valleys. I remember how to get there just not the name.

I was close but wasn't in the valley, I ended up on Black Balsam Knob but camped about 200 yards off Lake Logan Road at a point on the road that was about a quarter mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway. BEAUTIFUL spot, we were up around 5000 ft so we were surrounded by spruce and fir trees. It was incredible.

If you were coming from the pisgah area (hatchery, rangers post) towards the BRP, once you turn left on the parkway it was a few miles on the right. I remember passing a huge drop off that was straight down and a creek was at the bottom. IIRC it was just past that.

Keep me in the loop. I'm always looking for reasons to get out there! Plus we can wheel, hike, swim.
You got a map showing your spot?

Anyone use the Eno DoubleNest Hammock? I'm contemplating a hammock as I've heard it is quite a bit more comfortable then the ground

Hammocks are one of those things that you either love em or you hate em. As of lately, I hate them and am actually more comfortable on the ground.

BUT.... to answer your question. The ENO doublenest is a really nice hammock. VERY comfy. I do not have one personally but have friends that do. I have the hennessy expedition and the Grand Trunk skeeter beeter. I actually like the $60 G.T. more than my $150 hennessy.

I would have bought the ENO had it not been for the GT being on sale and the fact that I wanted no seeum netting. It takes practice setting them up right and making sure you have them level so you don't fall to the bottom during the the night. The other issue is making sure you pick a spot that has decent trees spaced apart.
