I've noticed on a lot of the newer Tacomas the bars and inner grille are painted a magnetic gray color.
Mine is an 05 and is just plain plastic and had a lot of water marks etched in so I plastidipped the inner grille only.
    Looks brand new.

I also went ahead and plastidipped the bezels for the locks on my tonneau cover.

Is there a surface prep process for plasti-dip? Like, wet sanding, etc. like you would with paint? Or do you just clean the surface and then spray?

Just clean the surface and spray away. It's that easy.

only do it if you access to a spray gun. Rattle canning your whole truck will look like shit. Only a spray gun with an air compressor will give you a nice even spray pattern and coverage.

Would it be possible to first derp the badges and then use rattle can over the derp to get the desired color?

Is that with regular black derp or the smoke derp? And did you mask off your brake light at all? I've been wanting to tint my tails and want to see what it would look like before I do it.

You forgot to do your third brake light
