    Cant believe my luck.
My uncle just gave me a mountain bike, only missing the front rim.
Looks like one of those 100 dollar Target ones but it has front shocks, working gears, and the rims are the same size as my current mountain bike.
Think im going to Frankenstein this.

snapped a few pics from this past weekend while in Collingwood, ON. Unfortunately my gf was a little to intimidated to run the intermediate XC trails on top of Blue Mountain :( so we stuck around town instead.

As long as you can stop or slow down, nothing is too difficult. I ran an old Kona hardtail down there years ago.

Well she was walking her bike down/up small 2-3 ft gullys and she was feeling slightly "scared" since she hadn't rode a bike in nearly 10 years previously so instead of having a bad experience i suggested we turn around and go around town instead. I'm going to head back up there with my buddy and really rip through some of those trails, its beautiful up there.

Probably a good choice. I hadn't realized you meant you were on the hill already when she decided she'd had enough. I've been dying to get up there since I got my Stumpy. Hardwood Hills, too. I used to patrol there, and haven't since I got Stumpy.

ok, so tell me what you guys think. I am looking for a more aggresive riding style/bike. I have my old kona hoss and was debating selling in order to buy a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR or Specialized Enduro. Its going to be an everything bike, from riding with the wife around the streets to taking it out into Colorado mountains. Still sketchy on dropping that much cash on a bike but you only live once right.

oh...and i have a chubby right now from watching this

im also hoping that they will take into account that i used to be a factory sponsored BMX rider in the late 90's and early 2000's for Specialized and cut me a price break. Yeah right, ill keep on dreaming :)

For those of you that have rode the 29's...are they really that much better than the original 26's? I mean I am a BMX guy so coming from 20" wheels to the ol' 26 is still a step up. And I have seen lower prices on the 26" cause they are considered old news at this point.

I didn't find the 29er to be any better for me. I rode both before purchasing my 12 Stumpy. You will find other people that swear by the 29er. I would suggest trying them both out before buying. There is so many options when buying a bike, it can make your head spin. Good luck with you decide!
