Well here is a pic of Yeungling with dinner. Dinner was cubed steak with a blue cheese and scallion melt and broiled eggplant with a mint and caper marinade

Thanks it came out good. I will be putting the smoker together tomorrow after I do some digging. Then I will season it and get some dry rub on the ribs and let that sit for a couple of hours in the fridge, then right into the smoker. That is going to be dinner tomorrow night....

Mmmmm, I love egg plant! I've been wanting to make some egg plant parmesan lately.

This is a sandwich I made for my gf and I today. Grilled bell peppers, tomatos, cucumbers with some lettce.

The bread is whole wheat with an avocado spread and tons of fresh mozzarella cheese on top. I broiled it before stacking all the veggies.

I wish I would of gotten a picture of how big it was. And those are not slices. That's a while loaf I just cut it to make two sandwich halves, pretty damn good though!

Alright guys, I am gonna take a stab (hah) at this.

I love to cook. Usually I do something big for myself and whoever is around at least once a week. Since I have seen this thread on TW, I have decided to try to document some of them. So here goes!

BEER CAN CHICKEN!!!...and some veggies for my veggietarded room mate.

    Ingredients/items needed:
    Oven
square/circular pyrex dish that is at least 2 inches deep
Whole chicken - this one was a 5 pounder from whatever grocery store.
Beer - Cans for cooking whatever you like for drinking.
Seasonings - I used traditional italian (basil, thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper garlic etc.) Use what you like, if you don't like it, why the hell would you cook with it?
    Garlic cloves
    Potatoes
    other veggies
    olive oil

I have a bunch of photo's here but I will paste some in as I go.

To start you must have a chicken, a few cans of beer (heavier beer is better) some italian herbs and I love to add fresh garlic cloves.
    DSC_0032_e5d41d08548c32630bc546848da9b0c3aec5ebe6.jpg
    DSC_0040_dd8956f86c95def0fa84abcc223aff96a20939a6.jpg

In my opinion, mo seasoning is mo betta so I make sure to cover the entire chicken in whatever mix I choose to use. In this case, I stayed Italian style with basil, thyme, rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper. It helps to cover the bird in a bit of olive oil to help the herbs stick to it. Season both the inside and outside!
    DSC_0035_b5efbd2d4a701ed49044b07abd1adfd66370397f.jpg

Once the chicken is ready, drink a third of a beer then fill it with some fresh herbs until they are sticking out.
    DSC_0039_c56a5e599cb3207c484c8536c9342d210b6254a2.jpg

Once the beer is ready grab the bird and promptly insert the cylindrical object into the bottom hole (the Beer, stupid!) Prop the chicken up with the legs in front. It should balance and sit upright.
    DSC_0041_d74f810ed2accf1053f52de5907c90beea53aaa7.jpg

Once that is done, you can stuff the chicken with some garlic or potatoes that will cook over with the chicken. admire your work thus far and grab another beer. or two.
    DSC_0045-1_5e3b000b5e38699f4a5e672088e614035b193458.jpg

Heat the oven to 375degrees and cook that sumbitch for about 1.5 hours, rotating at need if your oven cooks irregularly.

Now that it is in the oven, you can start working on getting the other veggies ready for any silly non meat eaters or as a nice side dish.

I used a light layer of olive oil on these and seasoned them with salt/pepper.

    DSC_0050_7007fff2218ab78d2de2d935348599872ef68991.jpg

They take about 45 min to cook in the oven, so if you are a kitchen Ninja you may have to wait a bit for the clock on the chicken to reach that point. If this is the case, demand snacks and more beer from the women folk who have been watching and chatting while you are cooking.
    DSC_0058_59cf4fe02f16a372d00fc0b161630f1a001c23d8.jpg
Brie, apple, wheat thins and more beer.

By this time, you should be putting the veggies in the oven with the chicken, which is where old school Tetris skills come in.
    DSC_0059_41d38f86ebfed0b02cd55ed3e73cc9012838b107.jpg

At this time, I also like to fill the bottom of the pan with garlic cloves and potatoes, then pour a can of beer over them. They will broil in the beer/chicken juices and taste damn good. YOu can see the result in the above pic.

ALSO TO BE NOTED - if any of you have dogs, by this point they are reallu unhappy they are not allowed in the kitchen.

    DSC_0055_c53d00a752ea2b3ee3488a7c73e34f11a94b9033.jpg

My 160lb Mastiff would lay in front of the kitchen entrance in protest that she could not be closer to the chicken.

I like to saute Mushrooms as a final accent to the meal. It makes me glad heart attacks don;t run in my Fam.

I have done the grilling technique a time or two. This was my first time in the oven. It was 115degrees outside that day, I really didn't want to use my charcoal grill for 2 hours in the sun.

I hear you. It does look good especially with the potatoes and veggies in the oven though. That would be awesome in the winter too....

Yesterday's afternoon snack (washed down with XX Amber)

The bacon was nice and crisp, the chile not too spicey, and the cheese was gooey & delicious!
