Very nice, Sir. My wife and I are so anxious to start building our home (we're still about 4 years away). We have 16 acres outside of Canyon Lake, TX, and it will be our little slice of Heaven. Great looking property! You did good!

Thanks, Bob! You know how it is - we had 21 houses in 26 years in the Army...and they all had white walls.:)

This was years of looking at plans and finally hiring an architect - built on the craftsman style with lots of quarter sawn oak detail inside, built in cabinets, tile, etc. We've got an old 57 acre horse farm about 20 minutes outside the city - perfect.

Best wishes on yours. You deserve it!!

My favorite place on earth. The Outer Banks of NC. I will retire in a house like this one day.

I really like the Outter Banks. I used to camp there a lot when I lived in VA. One of my favorite places to visit but it's now a 12+ hour trip to get there :(

Yep, I know a bit about those white (and paper thin) walls. Dang, and with those old stairwell apartments in Germany, I knew when my neighbor was gonna get lucky before he did. Thanks and best of luck to you on your reward!

I saw that last tank get built, it was on the Discovery Channel. Where are the other ones taken from? Is there an underwater hotel somewhere?

Love this thread! I've been dreaming of building houses using shipping containers. Going to try to do a 4 container (20 x 40, 2 wide, two high) bar at a friends house in his back acres. In the research phase but we hope to start within the next 2 years.

It's a 10+ hour ride from here in Atlanta :( . About 11-12 if you go down to Hatteras/Buxton area. I'm headed up there in a month to Duck. I love the place.
