I really think it should be illegal to do anything in an automobile except drive...

    derek,
i have not stated my desires, that i'm aware of, ...but i think we should stick to the topic at hand, at least in this thread (distracted driving)... what i am saying is that the answer isn't always adding more laws to the pile of laws... have you ever read through the revised code for your state?, ...let alone federal laws?, ...municipal laws?... it's no wonder our society has become so letigiuos and dependent on law profession... better enforcement and the rest of us treating driving w/ more respect is a better approach IMO... things like rudeness and distracted driving today have been too "acceptable", and perhaps societal "stigma" should be applied to pressure the offenders into shaping up their behavior ;)

Then report me and give me neg rep. I'm sure it's your duty.

OK so just go to wileyC's public profile and take a look at the threads he has started. It's worth a good laugh at best or a call to the FBI at worst.

much obliged, ...but i don't engage in that kind of activity... the mods can easily decide for themselves when they see you've posted several threads trying to discret me, infer that i'm a racist, ...all w/out any basis, ...let alone being off the thread topic...

the mature thing to do (in a forum environment) would be debate your point/counterpoint, rather than try to smear or discret the person behind an argument you can't seem to refute...

So you refuse to report content that you deem breaks the code of conduct?
Aren't you allowing the activity to continue by not doing anything?
Doesn't standing by and watching make you just as bad?

For a NRA member you sure seem to be passive. I bet it's a hoax.

Okay gents - We are wandering into little kid playground battle territory here.

Why don't you (XXXX and wileyC) walk away from the computers and take some time to do something in the real world..and then...When you come back...leave each other alone.

My only problem with all of these new "distracted" driving laws (namely the texting one) is that do you you really think a 16 year old girl is going to grab her phone while driving to send a text and think "oh, wait, a new law passed that bans texting and driving, i better not text because i could get a ticket or worse get in a crash and injure someone"? No, she is going to flip open the key board and text away because she has to tell becky she will be there in 20. Our idea of a solution now if we have a problem is just pass more laws, arrest more people, sue everyone. Which IMO does not fix the root of the problem. Because the people that are going to text and drive, and read a book and drive, or whatever are also probably too dumb to even think about the laws banning the "illegal" actions while driving and ignore the possible danger of said action until it is too late.
