Got some work done last week at DMZ Tim's! I can finally get on-the-gas when hitting the mall speedbumps!! Optima bolted in engine bay few years ago, sheet metal started ripping, so had the batt tray bolted then welded to the sheet metal. Worked for a couple years. Fast forward to last trip in Lucerne, sheet metal fatigued, batt moving all over the place in engine bay. Do yourself a favor and just move the batt to the bed to begin with.

Surprises and hospitality are never ending whenever I go over to Tim's. Left the truck for a day, Tim drove it home, he couldnt stand the squeeking from the shackle bushings. He had his tech break them down real quick and regrease the bushings before i picked up the truck! for fweeee 99

Tim added this nifty "multi connection cable lug" ...any other gizmos i add to the truck, i just have to hook it up to one of those little screws.

Also instead of DGAF'n and leaving the old welded batt tray in, he ended up grinding the excess off just so it was a clean look. Must've been a bitch! the black part is the old Camburg batt tray.

A good starting point would be .008 on rebound and either .010 or .012 on compression

Get bypass shocks, smooth bodies at a 1:1 ratio with leaf springs ride like garbage. Night and day with bypasses, worth every penny.

^Shock is straight up and down, so 1" of wheel movement equals 1" of shock movement, or 1:1. If you mount your shocks at 45* then it takes 2" of wheel movement to move the shock 1", or 2:1

Ahhh that makes sense. Thank you. My shocks will not be 1:1 I will have then angled forward a tad bit

If they are off the axle even kicked forward a bit they will be very close to 1:1

^^this. It's most likely going to be a 16'' shock pulling 16-18'' travel, close enough to 1:1

Bypasses do smooth things up a bit on the leaf springs, but if you can't afford the smooth bodies will work pretty good

3" lift Up front(Donahoe Racing ext. travel coil overs, Camburg UCA's), 1.5-2" lift in the back(aal and some billy 10" stroke short bodies), Bushwhacker Cut-Out fender flairs, 16"x10" Procomp Street locks, and 305/70 Procomp X-Terrains.
Would any of you guys recommend running a shock at 2:1? I heard you loose shock efficiency, and you have more friction when you go through travel. Ex: shock mounts create more friction.
