set up a bunch of cameras, wireless/wired wutever so you have proof, and yeah dont do anything stupid and if the idiot decides to go into the house and cause harm you know what you need to do, otherwise call 911 and go from there with your defenses up

 

While not premeditated someone could surely twist it as he was there waiting for the guy to come and shot him.

Don't get me wrong id shoot the guy too if it came down to that. He wasn't implying not to use self defense just saying be careful what you post in public that could lead someone to question if deadly force was really necessary.

 

If he breaks into the house and you feel the need for deadly force don't stop at one or two shots, empty everything you have. When the police arrive only tell them you were scared and afraid for your life. Say nothing more.

Do nothing outside the home.

 

If he has intentions of hurting anyone in the house, I wouldnt hesitate to shoot him. Of course you have to react fast to any situation. If he breaks in and has a gun, I would shoot to put him down. If he breaks in and it doesnt look like he has a weapon, I would aim low, take out a leg or two and beat his ass down afterward. Set up a camera like you said, get proof, and you should be fine.

Another question is did she get a restraining order? If not get one, dude shows up around the house, call the cops and press charges

 

You'll lose that scenario.

do what you can OP. but don’t do anything stupid. if you have a castle law, i would look at what all it applies too. in TN is is any home/dwelling and cars.(i don’t think most have it for cars/car jackings)

also i will say this. if he does break in. don’t just pop 1 or 2 empty that mag. if he is living he could(or family) come back and sue you.

Okay this is for our resident lawyer here, Huckleberry Finn....err excuse me, huckfin: Considering the stalked house in question is not the residence of the OP, what kind of rights does he have as a guest of the household in regards to firearms? If they are registered to the OP (who is a guest) - but not registered at the residence of victim - is there an issue of using said firearm for defense and protection of the household according to the Bill of Rights and /or local laws?

yep. thats why if someone ever broke in my place. and i had a gun. i would end them for ever. only one side to the story, and thats mine. same for if someone tried to car jack me, and i had a gun.

 

True that. Ive always wondered, if someone did break in and you took out a knee and they got arrested, could you just sue that person right away? Emotional and physical damages

 

Sue his family right away for letting the loose cannon out of the streets. If people can be sued for what their pets do, hell why not eh?
