I was looking at the wrong page. in Sask GDL for passenger vehicles was introduced in 2005, last year GDL was introduced for motorcycles.
I was in Alberta when I got my license, GDL was introduced in Alberta a couple years after I got mine.

Yeah it could be a fender bender, but it could also end up paralyzing someone or killing someone. I love the hockey reference, but its all relative. If the infraction is getting into an accident, yes it's after the fact, but the infraction is driving distracted, hence you should be ticketed after that, not when your infraction causes an accident. I.E get a ticket after you are caught texting, not after hitting a car because of texting.

And as you said with the gun example, don't outlaw phones, outlaw using your phone while driving

You really think they were angels? If that's what you choose to believe so be it, and I could give two fucks what they're doing today.

I have three kids from 28 to 35, I'm not naive enough to think they were angels. Enjoy your rose colored glasses. As far as what I taught them, I think in the long run they saw the light, but unlike you I knew when they were young they'd do stupid shit just as I did. Doing stupid shit is a rite of passage, the best lessons learned are the hard ones.

Rock on Idahodude, obviously you have the parenting market cornered.

he didn't say they were perfect growing up, just that they would listen to their parents. when he says they didn't text/use the phone while driving I tend to believe him considering when I was in high school 10 years ago very few kids had cell phones, unlike today where every 12 year old has a cell phone.

Rock on DB. My kids listened to me too, but they also screwed up. I knew they would and accepted it for what it was. Since you've only been out of high school ten years you're opinion is more or less moot. Unless you've been there and done that its best for you to sit back and learn. Just saying, you'll have your chance to experience the joys later in life.

Not angry at all, just trying to relay real life experience. I thought like you at your age, experience taught me otherwise. I'll shut up and let you learn the hard way, good luck.

If the "DB" in this post refers to "Douche Bag", I see no reason for the name calling, and would like you to enlighten me as to why you decided to call Saskquatch11 this.
