At the stealership getting some warranty work done

My truck continues to run hot when sitting at redlights and especially when off roading

Ne one know what temp my coolant should be at normal operation ?

I run 185 on the highway but much time sitting still with AC on and it heats upto 210+ quickly

 

Water pump leaking? This is becoming common with toyotas.

 

Haven't seen any leaks
It acts like clutch fan isn't working as strong as it should

What thermostat is in these V6 ?

 

sounds like either the thermostat or the water pump.

I am leaning toward thermostat. Possibly could be the fan clutch too...


Fuckin' 2nd gens.... My 1st gen has the original water pump and t-stat at 181,XXX miles...

 

Havent seen a therm go bad in a second gen yet, but have seen more than a few water pumps leak.

 

Yeah I want an old 1st gen to use for offroading

I'm thinking fan clutch because the AC cuts out very often when at idle but if I up the rpms to 2k then AC will run continuous
Maybe the pump impeller too

Glad I got an extended warranty

Getting new headlights too my OEM ones are dry rotting and spider cracks have began


Only got one key with my truck from dealership, so now I have to but the bullet and buy a spare before I loose the only one I got there goes $110

I am trying to figure out if the TRD Beadlock center caps will fit on my Konig Countersteers??? My wheels use center caps that push through the back, the TRD's snap in!!

 

gotta raise my billies up to 1.75. that little brush guard added some weight to my front end gotta bout a 3/4 inch rake in the back driving me crazy. they are set at .85 now

They say nothing is wrong with my cooling system
Although it overheated (steam) while I was riding in ocala nf..........but "nothing" is wrong

They say its normal for temp to be 175-210 ... I agree

But when it continues to climb upto 215 and higher, I would say something is wrong

 

They asked me if I was "towing" stuff when it overheated....... My answer: "no ....but doesn't it have a towing package on it?....... So I should be able to tow shit without it boiling over......"

I can't even ride trails in 2wd .....without it over heating ....... 10min on a trail in 4hi and its 210 and climbing

Something has to be wrong with that .......??

as long as you get a loaner, at least! the biggest problem is inconvenience

 

Camry's are nice...It would be cool to scoot around in one for a couple days.

 

they're probably gonna mark your vehicle as "heavily modified" and say your bumper is making your truck carry too much weight

 

I use rental car 5 days a week for work
My favorite economy full size sedan is the new Chevrolet Impala they are nice

 

So the dealer wants to keep my truck overnight so they can fully test and diagnose what is causing it to overheat ......

Sounds to me like some techs want to go wheelin in my whip ..... No way

they said they got it upto 225° but no higher...... That's not even putting the truck under any type of load...... Imagine pulling a trailer......or 4x4 climbing a hill .......

If its 225° riding around the parking lot on pavement........ Then off road its gonna be even hotter

I'm so frustrated .......

Any recommended dealerships in north central Florida....?

can you affect the overheating with your A/C? like will the temp stop raising or slowly go down with the ac off?

 

YES exactly with AC on it just gets hotter and hotter when on the trails
Turn the AC off it plateaus or even cools off some

I'm thinking clutch fan..... But these techs say the fan is working as should

I guess I need to install electric fans.......?
