Certainly not, I've scrubbed off paint trying to remove sap. I think there are ways to dissolve sap without harming paint, but I haven't tried it.

Wow, deff not good. I have tried rubbing alcohol . That seems to work ok but it leaves a haze on your paint and it's a bitch to get off. You need to keep washing and cleaning it to just to get it off. I'm at the point now where there is so much , I would just rather go to a detail shop and have them do it. It would take m hours and hours to do

I think at one time I was using Goof Off to remove the sap, but it's strong stuff, so gotta be quick with it. This was after I scrubbed the paint off.

Yeah, I heard never to use that stuff on autos. Like you said, rubs the paint off. I don't know what the detailers use but I would love to know lol

The trick with removing anything from your paint is you want to use the weakest solvent that does the trick. Anytime you use alcohol or any other grease dissolving agent, it will strip your vehicle of any waxes so rewaxing is a must. That being said, I haven't found anything that does a good job removing hardened sap. Turtle Wax makes a Bug and Tar remover that's supposedly good with sap also. All I can say is don't waste your time or money on it. It doesn't work.

I didn't rub the paint off with the Goof Off, I rubbed off the paint with soap and water from scrubbing to hard. The Goof Off kinda melts the sap like heat on butter, with a lot less of that haze you mentioned. I couldn't find it last time I looked, but could only find Goo Gone, which is much stronger and I would not use it near my paint. Last time I used Goo Gone to prep plastic for painting, it started eating the plastic! Might be good from removing window tint though.

Yeah your right. Nothing really works and that turtle wax bug and tar remover doesn't do a thing. Waste of my money and couple of hours:mad: My mom brang her Camry To a place and they got all of it off. Her car was covered, couldn't see her paint and they got it off no problem. Buy when I asked what they used, they wouldn't tell me lol

Just throwing this out there. Butter does a great job of dissolving sap off of your hands. Might do the trick on your ride and I couldn't imagine it hurting your paint.

Isopropyl alcohol, then buff with compound to fix the paint, then wax.. Because sap or pitch does eat into the paint a little.

Haha thanks lol. Yes I broke down and got one. The guy at Lou's said it's a better flowing exhaust and it's just gonna sound like the fm 40. Maybe alittle less noise but super close. Getting the 14 in size. What size do you have

I know it's kind of pointless without pictures but just thought I'd ask. Saw a black 2nd gen access cab with front tubed bumpers, high clearance rear bumper, sliders with kickout, and front lights with smiley faces. Saw it in the Seaport area of Boston. Lol I don't get to see lifted anything around here let alone a Tacoma.

    Belong to anyone in here?
