    Not at all. Gotta ask if you want to learn. (searching helps too, of course ;))

    As mentioned earlier, more vertical = better as long as you have room for everything. If you haven't purchased your shocks yet and plan on upgrading your suspension at some point in the future, it'd be good to buy the longest shocks you think you'd ever need and mount them so the bottom of the shock body is even with the bottom of the frame rails.

    That way you don't have to worry about them bottoming out, and they'll already be set up for extra droop if/when you make changes in the future.

    I actually disagree on this one it seems almost best for people to ask questions somewhere like this. Questions most of the time get answered quickly because most people have gone through a lot before getting where they are with long travel. Plus then like jason said if they start a new thread it seems like more and more newbs answer questions incorrectly every day and the site gets clogged with shitty information.

    Whoa!

    I agree that it's a bad idea, but I have to wonder what the rating was on that ball stud for it to snap like that. Class 3 could easily snap with a load handled by a typical winch.

    The ball on the back of my diesel is rated for a 30k lb gooseneck. In my case, the ball will remain intact but the entire hitch assembly would come undone with enough load...

    You have to consider the difference in force between a static load of 30,000 and a sudden, jarring load of 5-10,000. A mired vehicle can require a metric shit ton of force, far beyond the vehicle's weight, to recover.

    Yeah that what it was saying on the article. The sudden load was what does it. And since a snatch strap is stretchy it sling shotted the ball.

    What kind of paint do you guys use to do the inside of the fenders? Im getting a good amount of spider cracks so im gonna do the inside and tops of my bedsides like SDHQ.
    edit: While looking at some SDHQ pics im wondering how the fuck they taped it off so perfectly :laugh:

    i did my rear bumper in a rustoelum spray on bedliner and that shit set up like concrete! Very tough and not too bad textured. About like some 200 grit sand paper
