I recommend the Cobra 75 WXST for a small compact cb for anyone looking.

Since I got the FJ and the Wife was very against major surgery into any of the plastic so I looked around and found a cool setup being offered from Walcott CB called the "BigBillCombo". What really sold me was the nifty little "Bandi mount", created by a guy on FJCruiserforums.

Got it for xmas and finally got off my lazy ass and installed it one weekend.

I decided to mount the cb remote unit and cb in the center console and it worked out perfectly for me, the FJ's center console comes apart in 2 pieces and I was able to mount the remote unit under the upper covering piece and the actual connection to the upper covering piece. I wired power directly to the battery.

Lastly I picked up a Vanco SWR meter and did a tune on it, probably the most important part of an cb install is the tuning of the antenna.

Oh and the other cb I had for the Tacoma and 4Runner were sold to a friend that is trying to get a Heep, err I mean Jeep running.

    Upper piece removed

Really nice set up for a really nice truck, so what do you use the c.b the most for ? police location ? road conditions ? weather ? or just idle chatter ?

I use it for a few things. Mostly for use on the trails but I also use it for weather info and listening to the truckers.

from my very limited knowledge on them, it usually depends a lot on the antenna and whether its in tune or not.
