    Any of you guys familiar with highway 38 that runs between Hamilton and Anaconda? I've also seen it called the Skalkaho highway. Anybody driven it?

    :notsure: I was checking it out on google maps earlier. Says its closed in winter and looks kinda twisty and all. Is it scenic?

    Didn't even realize there was a highway there. Beats the hell outa going up thru Missoula and I-90 to head east. :anonymous:

    Highway is a very misleading term.
    Parts of it are paved, its a lane/lane and a half and steep. There are some pretty spots along the way - skalkaho falls near the top and rock creek on the east end. Rock creek road connects from the east end to the interstate and is a really pretty drive. Copper creek goes to the south and is another nice area, camped up there a lot as a kid

    Thanks! I'm lovin it . . . especially after coming off of owning four Jeeps.....though I do miss the topless TJ or CJ. It's got me thinking lately about an FJ40, but it's not exactly in the budget. I miss it during these awesome summer months, but they're awful cold during the winter.
