    So the solenoid and contacts for the starter are all I need to cover that going bad? No brushes or regulators in there?

    ya, but when i changed the oil (switched to HM) there was still a ton in it. Hopefully the switch to HM will take care of the leak.

    there was never much on the ground, but theres a decent amount on the truck *all over the trans, etc.

    way i see it is it's rust proofing the truck :p

    Craig can you confirm the "Home Depot Theory" ?

    I think you need to call Toyota and make them aware of this philosophy...
    If they screw me on my $5k settlement, I'll never buy another toyota. If they just pay me and make me happy, my g/f will buy a rav4 and who knows what else I'll buy from them down the road.

    We have a few stores in my market that have idependently owned food stands In front of them. Mostly just for steaks & such... Pretty good stuff actually.

    Yes, the "theory" is true. For years we had the most liberal return policy in retail. Too liberal in som cases, but now we've got a pretty good system that keeps us from getting robbed blind.:rolleyes:

    The most interaction customers have with a person in our stores is usually with a cashier. The goal is to have that interaction to be positive. Homeowners easily have that spend potential so it would be counterintuitive of HD to hassle them over trying to return a product...

    The two golden rules of retail apply:
    1. The customer is always right.
    2. If the customer is wrong, refer to rule #1

    I hope the folks at Toyota keep that in mind for your issues with the "big-nig"
