Ok I'm ready to pull the trigger. I'm not going to lift the rear more. I have the tsb and the rear sits 2.5" higher than the front. I want to raise the front about 2". What would be the best set up for correct higth, best ride, and off roading? 1) 5100s set at 1.75 2) 5100s set at 0 + ome 884s 3) 5100s set at 0 + eibach 620s ? And is there any thing else I would need? please let me know what y'all think. My truck is a access cab 4x4 4cyl. Oh yea I will be getting 5100s for the rear too.:help:

I might want to upgrade to toytec adj coils and go up to 3" some day so 5100s would leave that option open. otherwise mabey.

See I would just do the 3" now. Because I did my 3" in the front and did not have to put anything in the rear because I got the tsb. It sits level. Why do u want the coilovers over the OME setup?

I kinda doubt i'll ever go 3" because of ucas etc. plus it's a 4cyl so 265/75/16s is as big as i'll ever go. I have stock 245s now. And I can get all 4 5100s for the same price as the front n140s.

It seems like the ride would be better with one of these coils than stock coils compressed? but I dont know?

If I did the 884s + n140s would that be 2" or more/less? do you think that would give me the best ride?

maybe post questions like this in the suspension section next time and you can get a better response. But im sure more will chime in. People are still at work.

Well if you said you were thinking about going to the coilovers in the future i would just get the billys for now and save up for the coilovers. Because there is not a huge difference in price between the coilovers and the 5100's.

Since you have a new truck your factory coils are still in good shape. OME coils are going to be stiffer since they are used to lift the vehicle. Your factory coils are going to ride the best. Get the billies and set them at the middle setting. If you want a little more lift, then get the 10mm topspacer lift. that would put you at about 2.25" of lift.

A lot of people do say that. I think its because the stiffer spring helps eliminate that wallowing feel.

I think you would be more happy with the OME. They have a slightly less spring rate than the Eibach springs, and since you have a reg. cab., I think that would be best. :)

dont get the 885s if you want a soft ride. I had those on my V6 DC and they rode firm. I have always had good luck with eibach riding nice so I would say them with the 5100s.

Being as the Eibachs are a 620# spring rate, and 16" long, while the 885's are 590# spring rate, and 16" long, I dont see how the OME could ride more firm than the Eibachs......Maybe you had the 886's, which are a 650# rate.....regardless, the 885's WOULD be too much for a reg. cab. 884's would be the only route to go, IMHO. And, FWIW, OME springs ride best with the OME shocks.

My Eibachs, with the TRD Bilsteins ride really nice. I don't find them harsh and they tightened the ride up nice. I am very happy with them.

OME's are recommended to be used with their OME shocks. Plus ARB, who makes them, doesn't list the 884's for the Tacoma but others have used them. Here's the ARB (OME) fitment guide for our trucks. ARBUSA

    2005-09 Front Stock/Light Load (0-110lbs) Spring 1.75" 2 OME885
    Shock 2 N140S
    Heavy Load (110-220lbs) Spring 1.75" 2 OME886
    Shock 2 N140S
OME front coils can only be installed with OME Nitrocharger struts and coil seats.

I think from that I would say you should either go:
    1. 5100's set to 1.75" or 2.5" and stock springs.
    2. 5100's set to .85" and Eibach 8292.620 Coils
    3. OME885's + OME Shocks.
    4. 5100's set to 0" and Eibach coils which would give you a nice rake. **I don't like Trucks riding high in the front so I lean to having the back sitting at least an inch higher.**
