went to harbor freight for the first time earlier this week, there stuff is SOOO cheap, i know most of the time u get what you pay for as far as quality, but some of this stuff is usable, and they always have great coupons, including free stuff, like free scissors, tape measure, those mini led flashlights, and I even got a free digital multimeter.

 

Carefull with the multimeter, i literally smoked one doing a basic voltage test. It was at my house, the one i use at the shop is hybrid certified.

No prob, thats the greaat thing about harbour freight tools, they are so cheap it doesnt matter if you break them. There are a few things in my tool box from harbour freight that have lasted and even work better than some of the name brand stuff i have bought, but for the most part i never expect anything from there to last more than 1 or 2 uses, if it does, BONUS!

harbor freight has really been stepping it up the last couple years. only HF tool i've ever had go bad on my was a grinder i burnt up, but i'm really hard on grinders.

i refuse to buy some brands and from some retailers becasue more and more tools from the big name companies match HF tools part for part, and i see no point is paying more for the same thing if i don't have to.

for example, i took these next two pictures. firstone is a harbor freight compressor (that i own). purchased for $39. second pictures is the exact same compressor (just different colors), sold at sears for $100. what a rip off

 

that's pretty insane, they're identical i used to love craftsman, or I actually still do, but think their quality has gone down, and even some of their stuff is made in china now....and that evolve line, looks super cheap.

 

yeah, it's pretty crazy.
a lot craftsman stuff is chinese made now. now that doesn't mean it's poor quality (though some is). it just means that they are now overcharging for their products.
