Not sure yet, there's the small gap at the back edge that I posted pics of and I want to give it a few days to dry before really inspecting it (like the top edge once I can roll the windows down).

 

Tint can't go behind the gasketing and panels. Even when we tint commercially there is a 1/8" gap at all corners.

 

That's why I posted the pics and asked, never had tint before so I don't know if it's acceptable or not. So far responses were that it's not, or at least can be done better.

 

I can't see shit in those pics. Try a close up of the actual gap not the window and text it to me. If the gap is not equal the shop prob used the old "throw the tint onthe outside and cut it" if they are a pro shop using new school techniques they simply put the make/model/year of the truck into the computer and the tint gets cut by a plotter and is perfectly sized.

I don't tint cars, but I have sold and managed hundreds of thousands of square feet of film being applied in buildings.

 

It's definitely hand cut. I'll try to get you a close up, but in those pics look at the back edge of the glass, the lighter strip at the seal is where there is no tint.

you should not see and non tinted areas...except for when window is part rolled down you will see the 1/4"reveal around top of window.....

Not sand blasted...and no one laser etches on glass....well at least in these parts. We either film or sand blast it.

Yep. I do it all the time. Silly architects and their stupid designs.

I'm putting low iron glass throughout Philly's new SWAT building. Even the K-9 kennel windows are low iron. Like the dogs give a shit that the glass is super clear. Typical waste of money.

I say as long as it isn't visible from the outside it's fine. When I do window's as a little side job for some folding money there is always a little bit of a gap there. Usually 1/4 of an inch at the very most anymore and I'll start over.
