You all sending people from NB and QC to invade Maine? They'll probably see you before you make it here from AB.

I drove from Arkansas to Canada and crossed at the Peace Bridge rather than the Rainbow Bridge on my way to Niagra Falls with my wife. It wasn't very busy at mid-morning on a Monday. I would say about three or four lanes moving though the checkpoints, and moving quickly. Until my wife and I pulled up. She was driving and handed the young officer our passports. He scanned them--or something--and look at his computer screen. He looked past my wife at me and ask if I had any firearms. I said no. (and I didn't. My wife made sure I did not pack my 9mm before we started our trip.) The guy says something in his mike. My wife is a nervous wreck by this time. At least three or four cars have passed through the other lanes. He tells my wife to pull into spot 6 under the shed and wait for an officer. She parks, and we wait. Three officers walk toward us from the right and two from the left. One from the left tells us to get out and unlock everything, including the storage box in the back, and then to go sit on that bench. He pointed at a bench about twenty feet in front of the Tacoma. He also askes me if I had any firearms on me or in my truck. Again I say no. The five officers searched for ten minutes. By this time at least 20 - 30 cars have passed through. My Tacoma is the only one being searched. I do have a carry permit and wonder if when they scanned my passport that a flag popped up that says, "This red neck carries a gun.". Or maybe I fit a profile: male, 4-wheel drive pickup, Arkansas tags. :)
