No, mid travel is OEM replacements, 8s is long travel. There's no way anyone could fit 8s with the stock coil bucket and LCAs. I mean theoretically you could if you could compress it that much but you would have no up travel and you would have to strap it. 8s would be useless without LT, nobody does that.

There would be virtually no up travel with a setup like that. Most people who have mid-travel have OEM Replacements or a modified generic 6" C/O with a specific top plate for the vehicle.

How would there be no up travel? with new UCAs wouldn't you be fine?

No, because there is very limitied uptravel on a stock setup & with an 8" C/O the compressed length would be 2" longer (approximately) then a reg. replacement C/O limiting the uptravel by 2"

UCA aren't usually for travel they are typically to correct wheel alignment which is asqued by lifts.

An Extended travel C/O is not a 8" C/O it's really a 6" Coilover. That falls under the category of OEM replacement C/O's

It's not about the UCAs at all, it's the lack of space with stock LCAs and coil buckets. To fit an 8" coilover into the coil bucket with stock LCAs you would have to compress it so much that there would be very little room left for the shock to work, it would be all down travel that the stock components can't even handle so you would have to strap it.

The reason people run 8s with LT is because on the new LCAs the lower shock mounts stick out more than stock which gives the whole setup more room to run a bigger shock which is an 8". Does that help? Haha
Edit: seems like max and jerry explained it a bit better, hope it all makes sense

UCAs i thought added like an inch of down travel ususally(with right shock) and corrected alignment(on 2nd gens, not needed on 1st gens)

    I though extended was 8"

Gotcha. Well i new it was a wider stance and mount.

so an extended CO is just 6''?

Yup. IIRC extended vs standard is only 0.25" of a difference, Atleast for icons. I could be wrong but extended is definitely not 8".

Yes as said thats not an 8" Coilover. Usually from what Ive measured stock replacements are about 4.75-5" Im guessing a Extended travel is about 5.5 or so.

doesnt suprise me at all. i had a bumper from tim that bent to hell and back when pulling someone out of a snow drift. needless to say i said to hell with it and bought a relentless when i had my truck. hes not a very good salesmen at all. when there is a problem he trys to find everything that you could have possibly done wrong for something to happen. would not recommend to anyone

Relentless isn't a much different design when it comes to the mounting plate/winch plate that bends. Mine bent too. Was stupid easy to fix that. Couple whacks with a hammer then i welded in 1/4'' plate behind the 3/16s to make it much stronger.

That said. Not sure what happened to Tim really..

yes your right doesnt take much to fix it i had to do that myself. erics that i had built wasnt like tims. i had it made different just for that reason. but when someone spends 1000+ on a front bumper and something as simple as pulling a stock tacoma out of a snow drift and the damn thing bends from hell and back? someone should stand up for their product with some responsibility. oh thats right hes gone and took everyone for their money. piece of work i see. i found this out years ago. i simpathize for everyone involved in this.
