Beer and dogs

Is beer bad for your dogs? Like if i were to give my dog (70lbs) a beer or 2 what would happen......... this is a hipothetical question of course

 

He might puke it up because of the carbonation. We had a dog that lapped up a little beer and then proceeded to puke it up because it foamed in his stomach.
1 or 2 is going to be a lot for a 70lbs dog (how drunk would a 70 lbs person get?).

My dog won't drink beer, but my friends little dog loves it and pukes if it drinks too much.

 

My 7 year old golden retriever loves beer. When I go out on my back porch and crack a beer open she's stands there and stares at me untill I pour her some in her bowl. I only give her about an ounce but I would bet she would drink a whole can if I would let her. I always tell her she's a worse drunk than I am.

Beer is not good for dogs.

About 15 years ago. I observed, over a period of a few months a Labrador dog that become an alcoholic. In the beginning it would not drink beer, but it's owner forced it to drink it on regular occasions because they thought it was funny. At the end of several months, the dog would deliberately knock over beer at house parties and drink the spilled beer. The dog's personality changed during the process too. It became much more aggressive. It was very sad.

horrible for their liver and kidneys... you are not even suposed to let a dog eat grapes... alcohol has got to be 100x worse

Why are you wasting beer?

My friends and I taught my Labrador to get us a beer out of the cooler, but she's just as content with the ice in the cooler and a treat as she would be with the beer.

 

I would highly advise you NOT to give your dog beer. It's not good for them at all. Hops, the ingredient in beer that gives it the bitter flavor, is very very bad for dogs. They can get malignant hypothermia (which can be fatal) from ingesting hops.

I understand people think it's funny, but your dog's health is at risk just for your own amusement. If you want to see someone act stupid while drunk, just go to your local bar.

 

Giving your dog two will make him drunk. Giving him 7 ounces every two weeks is a good homeopathic means of keeping heartworms at bay.
