My driver door speaker cover fell off.

I just closed the door and the cover fell off the small speaker near the window.

It has two clips and some hardened blue glue.

When I tried to snap it into place, it wouldn't snap on.

What do I do or can I do?

 

Sounds like there might be more clips that have broken off completely, henceforth no secure installment, or the cover was actually glued on and the two clips held it there until the glue dried, if so get the glue out but I would let the dealer know, keep a detailed account of all things done to the vehicle with dates, hopefully this is a fluke.

Now I also have a little rattle from the driver's side of the engine at 20-30 MPH when accelerating.

 

Hard acceleration ? remember the truck is still breaking in, the little stuff is very annoying, and Hondas are great cars, but in the end I feel you'll be happy. Was there a reason you went from a car to a truck ? huge difference, you know the comparing apples to oranges and all that.

 

No, just regular acceleration. It's a ticking that increases as speed and engine RPM increase.

I went to a truck for several reasons. One of which is because the first time I rode in a friend's truck, I was amazed at the vantage point a higher vehicle has. I could see over most things.

I knew I wanted a truck then for that if nothing else. Then the practicality factor of owning the worlds biggest trunk also set in. I was carrying all my outdoor gear in my Honda Civic. No room for other people, let alone all the equipment.

Then, I knew that my outdoors adventures would take me through roads the Honda couldn't handle so I got the offroad package.

Soon a shell and bedrug.

All in all, I'm happy about the choice so far.

I dont' think I should wait till the 5K check to bring it in for the engine tick. I'll take it next week and see what they say and maybe they can glue the speaker cover back as well.

 

I agree 100%, bring it in soon and as they say "nip it in the bud". Develop a nice rapport with the service dept. and maybe let them test drive it, kind of a once over. I believe the noise in the engine is going to be "normal" I myself have a ticking or valve clatter under harder acceleration, which I am to understand as "normal". The past threads I have read pretty much say that going to a synthetic oil will cure this, or at least diminish it to an inaudible level. I am doing some research now about the area I live in to find out who carry's what and cost and availability, I got pinched when I was using Kendal oil. So when you say outdoor gear, camping ? hiking ? hunting ? or fishing ? other ?

My gear is mostly camping equipment such as stoves, tents, tarps, backpacks, food, etc.

My other outdoor stuff is actually my gun hobby in which I carry my rifles, sandbags, shooting rests, ammo cans, scopes, bowling pins, etc.

The rest of the stuff is fishing, photography, and hunting.


All this duty was done by the Honda Civic earler. It was crammed in the truck with both rear seats folded. Any passenger I had was in a cramped front seat. It was a sight.

ERdept, I used to fill up my Cherokee with all my shooting stuff. If another person wanted a ride I guess they would have to get on top! Check out this video and see what the Cherokee hauled each time. What you don't see is a target stand, two tripods one with the camera taking the picture/video and the other with a PACT Chronograph and screens on it. And the Cherokee has a 100+# tool box in one side of the back and a large plastic container with all the other essential off road and maintenance goodies in it. Tocoma has much more room for all of these goodies.

Nice. Looks to be a .44 mag by the recoil.

It's now just guns and ammo. There's a lot of related sheite that goes along with it.

Sometimes I'm surprised myself.

 

I didn't know the actual speaker "covers" came off!
