Galaxy 98VHP. Full size but also full power. 20 miles is nothing for this radio.

As i am not that computer savvy i suggest you just google it. A little pricey but you won't find a more powerful radio.

    I like the install

Is it hard to reach the buttons like that? And where did you get that ground wire?

Thanks! No its not. It's super easy, Every button is right at my fingertips. The rest of the cb is under the drivers seat.
The ground strap i bought from a ham radio store. It is just standard ground strap. It's used a lot to ground radios on sailboats to its keel.

Connex 3300 HP. If I could figure a place to mount it in my Tundra without it being an eyesore, it would be there already. For now, I use my easily hidden but accessible Cobra 19 with 5' tunable FireStik mounted to my toolbox w/separate ground. In best conditions (just got back from a 3000 mile road trip), I could receive clearly about 18 miles; transmit about half that with no additional amplifiers or mods.

My CB shop guy says the keys to a budget build are getting your antenna high above your cab, having a good ground plane, and eliminate as much extra coax as possible. (My antenna is visible in my sig pic)

Did you make that wiring harness yourself to leave the rest of the box under the seat?

Yes. Not incredibly difficult to do just very time consuming and you have to be very careful in labeling the wires. also I added molex connectors about 1' behind the face plate to make to make for easy removal.

Test it. It shouldn't break anything if you put it in wrong

I have the door jamb mount mounted between the tailgate and brake light. I am confused as to how to run the ground wire. Would it be possible to get some pics posted on how y'all did it? Thanks guys!

I don't think you need a ground if your gonna use that type of mount. Its mounted to metal so it should ground itself
