What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

better than my first 14 days. mine got keyed on day 13. still want to find out who it was so i can beat some ass. that was over a year ago, but i don’t care.

yeah i hear that!! i changed my oil for the first time at 500 miles and it was unbelievably black just at 500 miles!!, and at 500 miles I used toyota oil and a TRD oil filter and then just changed it 2 days ago again at 2,800 miles, again with a TRD oil filter and Toyota oil and it was still pretty black lol

 

That's a good idea. Every 5000 miles seem to be the max amount you want to drive before changing oil. Maybe I'll do the "earl" today. Did you get the oil from the dealer?

I have been pretty busy with my 11 dc tx pro. Got my 3" OME installed, bull bar,
And put in a Pioneer AVH 3400 double din. All look awesome and sounds great.
I do have a lil vibration on take off at 10 mph and slowing down around 20 mph.
Any suggestions? Alignment all with-in spec. I will post pic's when I get them down loaded to the computer.

however, the hood scoop has to go.

 

Installed some used 5100s in place of my TRD rear shocks. The old shocks have 110k on them and the used 5100s have 37k on them, still feel good and are much better than the old one, and the price was right for them.

 

I apologize for my ignorance but 3" OEM what??.do u mean a lift?? Because if Toyota makes an OEM 3 inch lift I want it xD!!

 

Yes, I always use Toyota (dealer) oil and filter all the time, its like one of the best ways to put equity into your truck especially if you save all your recipts!

Did you put the drive shaft drop down shim in? Goes above the carrier berring I believe.

 

BHLM and painted the Toyota emblem while I had the grill off......hopefully after some silicone for extra protection I will be FOG FREE!.......then Im gonna debadge and paint them black too. Today was good day

 

FINALLY installed the bull bar and side running boards next up deflector in a couple hours

 

Avoid the Toyota deflector, unless the design has changed! Otherwise, you'll have metal clips resting on your hood with only a thin strip of clear 3M vinyl between the two. The OEM delfector has been on my '06 since it was a week old. I'd much rather go with an aftermarket version to avoid the metal-on-metal, but now I'm afraid to remove it since it's been on for so long and the vinyl appears to have bunched up (I'd probably have to repaint my hood!).

 

Washed waxed, as well as a minor detail under the hood, also cleaned the inside

I'm going to the dealership to have 3 things looked at under warranty:

-console door latch (broke, hope it's a warranty item)
-blower motor squeak (taking the TSB with me just in case)
-drivers side headlamp has multiple vertical cracks (again, hoping for it to be warranty)

I'm going to the closest dealership, about 20 miles (not where I bought my truck that's 50 miles)...and I DO NOT like this dealership. I have not had good experiences there in the past. I'm literally praying for a better experience and worthwhile visit this time.

I intend to approach them in a very humble manner.
