    Nothing else is broken on my truck. it drives straight, but it doesnt take those speed bumps to well anymore.

    I put the OME nitro shocks on about a year ago and drove 12K miles.

    From the pic it looks like it's been like that for a wile with the rust on the shaft or what's left of it :eek:. Seeing how your in AZ i don't think things rust up fast like that would in the east it looks old.

    Nothing is missing... the piston rod is on top under the dust cover.
    Whatever broke the lower eye off was hard enough to jam the piston into the lower tube and either blew the gas seals or bent the piston rod and locked it into the fully retracted position.

    Bottomed the hell out of the suspension on a speed bump or jump... manufacturing defect, vandalism (not likely)

    It's not rust, it's oil from the shock. Could it have been a faulty installation? I had desert rat install it.

    No metal missing. Note the shock body is tapered above the fracture. That's where it welds to the eyelet. Looks like the weld broke at full tuck, the nitrogen leaked out, and the shock stayed compressed while the axle dropped down.

    Was the mounting bolt tightened while the truck was on jacks (axle at full droop) or while the truck was on the ground? Since the shock uses rubber bushings instead of bearings, tightening the bolt with the axle at full droop puts extra bending load on the shock at normal ride height.
