Yesterday I stopped by a small local gun shop looking for a new gun. He said that he had 1 AR15 in stock. It is an Armalite 15a2, the price is $1100. I don't know enough about them to know if this a deal worth jumping on right away or not. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Depends on the set up. Carbine?, Heavy barrel? muzzel brake? Barrel length. regular stock, collapsible stock.. then factor in supply and demand. He will get $1,100 easy.

The only parts of that that I can answer is: 20" barrell and regular stock. Sorry, I'm a novice at this type of rifle but I had a friend of mine tell me that if I found one in stock I should probably think seriously about buying it. I really wanted to spend this money on a new AP bumper but those wont be banned anytime soon and the dealer at the gun shop says that taxes on these weapons will probably go through the roof. Maybe BS? I honestly don't know.

Why in the hell would anyone need a gun like this? I am a hunter and avid outdoorsman, and own 5 rifles and shotguns. So I am not afraid of guns.

What would one do with a gun like this, shoot cans? Woo Hoo!!!

IMO these types of guns should be outlawed.

Bumpers wont be banned, And neither will ar-15 rifles. Everyone is going crazy about the weapons ban.

Here in NY state the assault weapons ban never went away. Ny mirrored the federal law that the Clinton admin put into effect. I still had no problem buying an ar-15, Three pistols, And all the ammo I wanted.
the only thing I couldn't buy were newly manufactured high capacity magazines. But didn't have a problem finding grandfathered used high cap. magazines. I couldn't buy newly manufactured flash suppressors, No fully automatic weapons. I couldn't buy rifles with a shorter than a specified lenght.
Now I have a problem because everyone is freaking out and buying up all the ammo and guns. And driving prices rediculosly high.
these same people freaking out, are the ones that mostly voted for Obama.
Plus the guy is to busy with the econemy and such to do anything right now.
And in four years he wont be around anymore. Because the choices we were given for president were'nt to good to begin with. And the extent of the mess form the last eight years is so bad.

why in the world do we need sport cars? Or cars that do over 65MPh? How many kids do you hear about dieing in high speed crashes? Why not govern all cars to do only the state max speed limit? It would save lives.. (sarcasm, but part truth)
It's called freedom.. that whole constitution thing.
And I like mine for target shooting, I do not hunt, But target shoot often.

should it be outlawed? Next it'll be knives, then bats.. all the way back to rocks..
Because If someone wants to kill someone, they will.. Just like if a thief wants your car stereo, He will get it.

Look guys, this is a simple question. Is this a good deal or not? I don't need the lectures, I'm not planning on taking on the gov't. or shooting up the local mall. I do like to shoot/hunt/ etc. It's really as simple as that!

You wont find one any cheaper. Meaning supply and demand have made the price go up. I bet it is not even there today.

How bout sport or self-defense? If you had a family to protect, why not own one? The people that break into houses and kidnap children have them and all the laws in the world aint gonna change that.

Why do you need 5 guns? Nobody needs more than one gun. You should go to jail for hoarding an arsenal. You probably have scopes on those highpowered sniper rifles. You could shoot children and bring down airliners from miles away.
I'll inform Homeland Security of your terroristic tendencies.:goingcrazy:

Yes, he gave me the name of a company that he said has very good prices but it's also a 5 week wait. Maybe someone else knows where some is available sooner.

Nah, Not a mistake. I thought about sellingmine a few times, I am so glad I didn't! Yeah, The ammo thing.. It's tough. I used to go in and buy .223 at 300 rounds a pop.. Now I can hardly find 20 rounds.

I'll let my buddy in Charlotte know. He's been looking all over for one. He has a friend who is a local police officer and he said sometimes the shops will hold a few back for sale to officers as a favor.
