    HA! yeah right! this KILLS my iMac! easy, way faster, photoshop and lightroom run SO much better on my air, and my imac has 12gb ram, 1tb hdd, and 2.5ghz i5..

    this is 1.7 ghz ivy bridge i5, 4gb amd 128 SSD.

    ill give you an example.

    on my iMac, i have the master tracks to a killers song. In logic pro my imacs CPU is maxed out the whole time, and sometimes cant even run. My air runs flawlessly with the cpu only working at about half.

    Oh and did i mention i got my $1200 air for cheaper than a brand new 32gb Retina iPad? :D

    Oh for sure it will run faster. Probably the limiting factor in most computers is the disk performance. That and the caches that keep the CPU busy.

    The Air is really so much better than any other portable device with regard to speed & weight.

    I'm giving you crap about the beach-balling thing because a number of people I know are having issues that cause the thing to beach-ball.
