MotoMetal wheels chrome peeling????

I was just getting ready to order some Moto Metal 955 chrome wheels when a co-worker told me one of his friends had a set and in less than a year the chrome was peeling off. Has any one else had a similiar experience? If you have MotoMetal wheels on your truck how long have you had them? hate to buy the wheels only to have them disintergrate in a short time. Thanks

 

I've had my set over a year, and so has my brother, neither of us have had issues with the chrome peeling/bubbling/flaking.

 

Thanks! Been researching a bit more and seems like a lot of people that have the problems live in colder climates. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Since I live in Hawaii the climate thing should not be an issue. Went through the mall parking lots here and checked put a lot of trucks 7 cars with chrome wheels and didnt see any with any problems so guess I might be alright.

 

Chrome rims in New England during Winters would be like a snowball's chance in hell (or Hawaii) of lasting. Salt once in the metal (stone chip, etc) really raises hell. As I kid, I ruined a couple sets of Cragar S/S rims - wasn't real bright back then. lol!

 

get polished aluminum or black steelies

 

Dont care too much for the black look and already have polished ones. just was thinking of getting a different look with a little bigger tires. 285/70/17's

 

if your after durability and longitivity those would be my tops, you want shiney go chrome and a lot of wax and taking care of it. shit just paint them pink and be done with it

Did enough research. Going to take a chance and order my 955's. Think a lot of factors contribute to chrome deteriation like weather, chemicals,salt, etc. So hoping since I live in a warm climate I should be ok. If they screw up I'll just swap the tires to my M/T rims and run those. Talked to a guy in Costco parking lot who has the 955's on his Dodge for about a year and a half and his still looks like new. Thanks guys!
