Okay so I have 2009 Toyota Tacoma 6spd. And sometimes second gear well pop out as I'm costing down the road. It usually does between 1-2000 rpms.
Anyone else have this problem?? And don't say the syncros cause it's a newer truck

I just bought an 06 and it does it also, haven't pin pointed when it does it. It seems to be when I down shift. have you found anything else out on this issue?

Not sure this would apply, but my '92 pickup did this. It was a $12 nylon bushing at the bottom of the shifter and an easy fix.

Why not? Just because it is newer doesn't mean it isn't the cause. That is the most common cause of a transmission popping out of gear. Also the biggest cause for syncro wearing out early is resting your hand/arm on the shifter while driving.

    It is the syncro's.

Synchros will definitely cause this. Same thing happened to my wife's accord.
