What did you use to restore them? I'm assuming some sort of headlight restoration kit?

Yeah, the 3M one I bought.

I've gotten two uses out of the kit. I think it was around $20.

The 3000 grit pad is torn to shreds at this point... so this kit is done. It also doesn't come with a clear coat finish, which was the demise of my first attempt (it just oxidized quickly... 8 months and back to yellow haze). Hence the extra bottle of spray clear coat.

There are better, more expensive, kits out there that have a true clear coat finish.

But for $10 and 45 minutes per restoration, it ain't bad.

Those arent sealed beams. Those are what I want to get.
The sealed beams are what came stock on the 95-97. You cant change the bulbs because the housings are sealed shut

To clarify any confusion a sealed beam is a halogen light housed in a sealed bulb. You have to take your grill off to change out the bulbs,Unless you buy some roundeyes or something similar. Food for thought on the front end swap.

I mean if Toyota puts a headlight on a 95-97 truck that doesn't allow you to change the fucking bulb...

    ...something's wrong.

Yes, of course you can take out the bulbs. That would be retarded not being able to change burnt out ones.
I don't know how to remove them, I never have. It is in the owners manual though.

So you used the Rustoleum on your bumper, instead of the Duplicolor? And you just compared the color of the bumper with your interior parts?

On the bumper valence I used the Duplicolor dye... that rubber/vinyl material absorbs it so well.

On the two chrome bumper inserts I used the Rustoleum Ultra Painter's Touch primer and paint (after sanding them down with 300 grit).

Both the dye and paint were flat black.

    Perfect match.

Thanks Madjik. Sometime in the near future I'm going to attempt dying/painting my entire interior black.

I just installed these Truck-Lite LED headlights yesterday. All I can say is WOW. They're phenomenal. They're pretty pricey, but I'm happy with my decision to buy them.

Madjik, if you do the 95-97 front end retrofit, you can't go wrong with these.

Thanks for the heads up. Are they just a direct plug-and-play type set up?

Any pics of the lights at night?

    Hey Madjik,

Is this the paints you used for the door handles? I might have to hit mine with it soon. My plasti-dip is beginning to peel
