    I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma TRD with 47,789 miles on it I was wondering when I should change out shocks. Then I can tell wife that they need to be replaced and do a lift kit lol.

    Couple shocks, some old tires, and a bad paint job
    Stock shocks can go until they piss out all their fluid or you're bottoming out on speed bumps. If you press them down and they extend back out, let them be! In your case though, yeah they're shot.

    Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
    Shocks can last anywhere from 60-100k miles. Your driving style, road conditions, and climate will have a large impact on longevity. If you push down hard on the bumper, and it quickly rebounds and settles, they're good. If it bounces more than a couple times before settling, they're starting to go bad. If it bounces many times, or there is fluid leaking from them, they're junk.
    You tell by driving it as well. If it seems that you cant hold a corner on a bumpy road as well as you used to, they're going bad. If the tires have been balanced and rotated regularly, but show signs of cupping, they're going bad.

    There are some obvious bs posts here. Hopefully, you have some common sense, OP;)
