lol.... I just don't want anyone reading this to copy what people do if it's not correct. I enlarged the hole, but didn't touch the beam. I left at least 1/2" of the vertical metal intact before the beam and that's even cutting to much IMO. Now that I know what I'm doing and have helped install 7 or 8 of them my truck would of been perfect, but it was the first one I did.

Take a look at the cracked body panel thread in TOR. Pretty shitty. You double cab guys need to watch out.....your cabs and engine bays like crumble and crack.

    I appreciate you looking out.
Honest & genuine concern that the mod be completed as designed for safety & performance is much needed. Unfortunatly not always seen.

    Lots...
Well... Before I did the cuts, I asked a few friends that are into modifications and they build some good tubular 4x4's... They told me that because of all the mods: bumper, height, tires, etc... there was going to be no problem, they told me that the weight of the bumper was bolted to the chassis, that's why it is so strong... I'm just saying what I was told...

But as XXXX said, and there is nothing better than safety, I will reinforce it soon...

Well, on the other side... I don't have any cool perceptions about mileage because I did a trip to Chachalacas, but not in the usual way... I had my other set of tires on the bed, 4 people on the truck, luggage, and lots of beer, ice, food, etc...

what I did notice is that with almost the same amount of weight, now the truck felt with more power... it kept a constant speed without any problem...

I already did the cuts, I'm just sharing my experience and if there are any problems, i'll keep you informed...

yeah i love that thing i actually used it a few times last year in the hurricane we had some pretty severe flooding around my way. a family friend was trapped in her house without power so me and the wife plowed through water that was well over my 34'' tall tires.

oswego really did a great job on mine he has the whole thing down pretty good by this point in the game lol the poor guy worked on my truck for hours! but, it works and it works well.
