When i bought my truck in april 2011, the traction control malfunction light would come on periodically. I took it into the dealership and they assured me that the yaw sensor needed calibration and they cleared all the codes. I am once again having issues with the Traction control malfunction light and recently, the ABS light has been coming on with it too. These lights do not stay lit all the time, only intermittently. Any idea what the cause may be or any similar issues? I already schelduled another dealership appointment but its damn frustrating to keep returning a new truck for problems.

I broke a wheel speed sensor wire, it caused my truck to do what seems to be the same issue. It is very difficult to find the break in the wire.

Also check the break fluid level in the reservoir. I know that seams easy and the dealership should be able to spot that. Even if you don't have leak it can still get low.

They re-calibrated the yaw sensor again. So far no light but they blamed it on my bucket seat mod . They claim the airbag system shares components with the traction control system such as the deceleration sensor.

update 7/26/12; went back to the dealership for an unrelated problem and the dealership told me they just heard back from toyota. Apparently Toyota told the dealership that the airbag system will not trip the traction control/abs light. So the dealership gave me a BS line the first time, at least they owned up to it ! Still no problems with the lights.
